I was just listening once again to this nice song from Naya Andaz(1955) composed by OPN Saab. In this, what I seem to be liking the most at this point of time is the instrumental interlude that comes just before each Antara. A group violins' bit, followed by a brief mandolin (or some other string instrument) piece. That brief mandolin intervention is just out of the world!

Agree with you on the mandolin, it is simply unforgettable. What about the way Shamshad Begugji sings "Hoye (tu aaja....)? This Hoye is just as special as the mandolin piece. Try to imagine how the md's just come to it. Theose are small special things making you remember them forever.

No, you must thank Sanjay who woke me up and made me do the needful. Only the Almighty from above can give blessings as we are mere minions who can only wish for the best while we carry out the orders of our conscience.

As you all know the Lord has blessed me with many GB of Rafi songs over the last few years. Just after the ratio system was introduced I virtually stopped u/l'g and the result is an additional 25 GB of d/l's and a near stagnant level of u/l's while my storage system is bursting at the seams. I have a 200 GB external HD which was about half filled and which I almost could not access. Just yesterday I repaired it and bought an extra 300 GB external HD and copied all the files there to back it up.

I cannot again risk a HD crash which I had experienced some years back. At that time Aton Bhai and others so graciously offered me to help restore the lost data but I told them I wouldn't trouble them unless it was absolutely necessary because so many songs were being u/l'd by so many people without the need to request anything. At that time the u/l'er knew more about rare good songs than the d/l'ers like us and we all d/l'ed on the sincere belief that the u/l'er was acting in our best interests. I gather these days it is just the reverse on the basis of what I see on and hear in this Forum. That is what has also changed with the changing times.

Perhaps the Almighty does not want me to share so many songs. The minimum I could do was to u/l at least the recent 25 GB and repay the kindness of the HF. But the Lord has apparently thought it is a waste of time to make the Admins reconsider relaxing the impractically stringent u/l'g criteria in force and I'm sure the Lord must have some solid reasons for this. Things will remain the same for me unless there is divine intervention or unless members raise their voices in unison.
