Track: SHAHEEDON TUMKO MERA SALAM (My rating: 7 out of 10)
Movie: Bazar (1949)
MD: Husnlal Bhagatram

Is that a typo or did H-B really compose a song in 'Bazar'? AFAIK, Shyam Sundar was the only MD for the film.

Warm regards,
Abhay

The Film:Bazar-1949 had indeed two MDs-Shyam Sunder and HB.

Of the five Rafi solos in the Film, three were by Shamsunder. Two were by HB, including this great patriotic solo, Shaheedon Tum Ko Mera Salam.

Venkat

Venkat,

Which is the other song by H-B?
I had it noted as 'Zara sunlo hum apne' by Rajkumari, Lata and Asha.

Exon

The other Rafi solo composed by HB in Film:Bazar-1949 is: "Mere Bhagwan Tu Mujhko Yun Hi Barbaad Rahne De".

Not that I know or have this song. The information is courtesy Salim-ul-Haq.

Venkat

Movie: Bazar (1949)

Some oldies.

First:

Track: KAANTE BANEGE KALIYAN (My rating: 7 out of 10)
Movie: Humari Manzil (1949)
MD: Husnlal Bhagatram
Sinegrs: Geeta Dutt and Mohd Rafi
Bitrate: 192 kps
Duration: 3:11 min

This beautiful song, in fact, has clearly two other singers in it. The "Bujrugon" log of HF have identified them as Pt. Husnlal and Pt. S.D.Batish!!

With pleasure, VDS. Great song indeed. It is a twin of a Rafi solo, "Ham Ko Tumhara Hi Asra, Tum Hamaare Ho Na Ho" from the same Film:Sajan-1947.

Sajan-1947--"Kis Ko Sunaavun Haal-e-dil"--C.Ramachandra--Rafi-Lalita Devulkar

Duration:03:22

Enjoy.

Venkat, you are right, I listened to it again, it is actually better than I originally thought. Maybe a 7 out of 10 would be more accurate. By the way, did you listen to "Meri Hasraton Ki Duniya" that I uploaded before? It is the only song I've given a 9 out of 10 so far. Will be uploading some old Lata-Rafi duets soon

Yeah Praks. This song is a very familiar song from olden (my college days) days. Used to get to hear it regularly on Radio those days.

A very good song indeed.

But, you would have noticed that, rightly or wrongly, I have a bias against post-1970 songs!! Let us not go into its why part now! smile.gif

Yes Venkat, I DO KNOW that you prefer the older songs. I will be uploading some very old Lata-Rafi songs soon on this thread, I'm sure you'll like them.
