Admin. Ji,

I do express my regrets for using 'unsuitable words' against a member of HF. I request God Almighty to give me the ability and strength to use 'suitable words' against him, if he once again makes ill-founded and insulting comments against the greatest singer this Earth has ever seen!

Also, it is my humble submission to you that a far higher culpability needs to be apportioned to the first provoker, who vitiates a peaceful atmosphere by his provocative, insulting comments, especially against a Legend and more importantly, a Saint! This is only a submission in all humility.

As you are aware, I had recently relinquished voluntarily my Angelship, which I now intend to restore after hearing from you.

Regards,

Venkatadri

I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Friends,

Even during my hibernation-cum-exile of 7-8 days, it was Rafi Saab who gave me solace!

On the first day, I was really sad and kept on singing “Kabhi Khud Pe Kabhi Halaat Pe Rona Aaya” (Film:Hum Dono-1961--MD:Jaidev) to my heart’s fill.

On the second day, I did sing, “Aansoo Na Baha, Kar Yaad Use Jo Is Sansaar Ka Daata Hai, Mayoos Na Ho Is Duniya Ke Woh Bigde Kaam Banaata Hai, Rakh Aas Usi Par Tu Bande” (Film:Guru Ghantal--1956—MD:Lachhiram)

Next day, I became philosophical and started singing “Jiyo To Aise Jiyo Jaise Sab Tumhara Hai, Maro To Aise Ke Jaise Tumhara Kuch Bhi Nahin” (Film:Bahu Beti—1965--MD:Ravi).

Then again, one night sitting in the Balcony, I kept saying, “O Raat ke Musafir, Chanda Zara Bataa De ,Mera Qusoor kya Hai, Tu Faisla Sunaa De” (Film:Miss Mary—1957—MD:Hemant Kumar).

Meanwhile, I started receiving the “Come Back” messages from various friends (even some unexpected ones) with whose lives, over the last one year, my life was intertwined almost inextricably. And it was then that I remembered the oft-repeated, favorite sentence of one senior Hfer (is it Mandrake or Your_admin?)---“Remember, it was we who came to HF; HF didn’t come to us!”

Then, a friend of mine suggested that I should now sing, “Rafi Forum Se Judayi To Nahin Mangi Thi, Qaid Mangi Thi, Rihayi To Nahi Mangi Thi” (Film:Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai –1961--MD:SJ) and my path became clear.

So, here I am back amongst you, dear friends!

My grateful thanks to the Admin. for reinstating me. I sincerely thank all the friends who sent me pm’s, emails, even posts on the board, etc. asking me to come back. Especially, one senior member who jeopardized his own standing here while expressing his displeasure at my decision and two other senior members who reasoned at length with me to just do what is needed for coming back.

Where else do you make such genuine friends but here?

Finally, I am happy again and am looking forward to continuing my Rafi-studies. Any recommendations as to which song I should now sing?

Venkat

PS. The foregoing is meant to be a partly light-hearted and a partly serious account of my state of mind for the last few days. Also meant to illustrate that there is always a great Rafi song for each mood, predicament or occasion!

It is by no means an attempt at martyrdom!

I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Sajdah Ji,

Many thanks. Well, I did think of "Aayi Hain Bahrein Mite Zulmon Sitam", but decided against it because of the dicey "Mite Zulmon Sitam" part! Your other reco. may be fine.

Incidentally, can someone please upload this "Dhal Chuki Sham-e-Gham" song from Kohinoor(1960)--MD:Naushad--Rafi?

Well, well, SS Ji!
