QUOTE(Nimii @ Sep 2 2006, 09:46 AM) *

Awww na na love.gif me was just kidding biggrin.gif Yes true I agree that bit about LM voice being used for a peppy number. And to note that it did turned out great! His output with his Asha then should be with numbers that are soft and classical kind that Lata ji sang na. Let me see what numbers are there! Hmmm... hairpull.gif cant think of any.. I can only remember all the ooomphs kind! wacko.gif So does that mean he tried experimenting with LM alone? huh.gif

I am thinking more of solos because we all know the thriving output of the KK_AB_Bappi combo of the eighties... cool.gif

Yes I was talking about the solos, but dont seem to rake anything from my memory. My db is hardly half complete so cant even refer it, using the filter mode. Can you think of any? I found some solos, but cant really consider them here for discussion. They are mostly the fast numbers.(jawani jaane man haseen dilruba..) Naukar biwi ka has one - O mere sajana.. cant seem to place the tune. Need to take out the cd and hear.

Madhz tum hi kuchh bolo!

Yes, cannot believe it, but it seems in the seventies apart from Ahsaas, I don't recollect any Asha solo by Bappi whereas Lata solos abound. And even in the eighties it is mainly duets... Though there is one superb song that he made her sing for Hathkadi(1982)..."Disco station Disco" wub.gif Now don't tell me that that was also copied from somewhere... angry.gif Another one that I remembered..."Dede pyar de...(Sharabi)

Thanks Nimz, had never heard this one...really seems a rare Bappi/Asha combo...nicely sung but the last bit of histrionics could have been avoided...

Ya sounds like the heroine is really desperate! I can very well imagine her running real fast, with her arms thrown up and finally dropping on the floor with utter disappointment!

Looking through my haphazard collections, located this one that I had not heard carefully before...rather nice, a sensuous number with not too much dhoom...reminds me of Disco Station...

I also just noticed something...just as in a Woody Allen movie all the characters end up talking in his hectic, vague tone (ok WA diehards don't run after me with a danda, I love his movies, even his later ones...) in Bappi Lahiri's songs most of the singers end up stressing the hindi words in a very Bangla tone... even the Marathi stalwarts... ohmy.gif Check out Asha's "Bahar" in the "Masti chane lagi bahar aane lagi" laugh.gif
