Purely my surmise - but seems logical ! Sri You are very right Sri. Pankaj Mallick composed only for his own and Binata songs. The 2-3 other songs were done by Jamal Sen. The Pankajda rendered melodies - esp "Apni preet ko dhoond raha hoon" and "Tu hi bataa de" are simply thrilling melodies. It is interesting to note that Geeta sang under the master's baton in "Zalzalaa" (1952) and had such a masterpiece as "Mujhe vo dekh kar" to boast, both Lata and Asha never got the oppurtunity to sing for him. However, both of them as well as Talat and Rafi got to sing for that other legend, R.C.Boral. Regards, Shriram |
