Thanx for the uploads. It is particularly great to hear the Mukesh solo
version since it has that ultimate music collector goal, the "extra verse".
I believe this song was released on some Mukesh collection without
the middle verse.
The duet is unfortunately not complete based on what I remember. It is
possible the label that released the film deleted portions of the song. I
have seen that done before on video tapes. Not on DVDs though.
But still lovely songs. Now let me dig up the cassette that I have of the
duet and see if I can upload that sometime.

The DVD rip of "Hum ne tumko pyaar kiya hai jitna" -- the Mukesh version
is interestingly different from what I already had. They were approximately
the same length and I was almost ready to discard one of them as a duplicate.
Then I realized that the verses are different. The mood of the 2 versions seems
the same, one of the verses is even identical, but the other is different.
Does the Mukesh version of the song show up twice in the film?

=================================================
The first version that I got (also from HF) had the following verses in this order:
1.
Roye bhi to dil hi dil me mehfil me muskaaye
Tujhse hi hum tera yeh gam barsoN rahe chhupaaye
Pyaar me tere chhupke chhupke jalte rahe hum jitna
Kaun jalega itna

2.
Pyaar pe mere naaz tumhe thha yaad karo woh nazaara
Haath pe apni likh lete thhe jab tum naam hamaara
Teri ada ki bholepan pe miTthe rahe hum jitna
Kaun miTega itna
=================================================

The version that Unni uploaded from the DVD has the following verses
1.
Tu ne hum par laakh jafa ki hum ne ada hi samjhi
Tujhse koi bhool hui to apni khata hi samjhi
Saamne tere yooN haNs haNske luTthe rahe hum jitna
Kaun luTega itna

2.
(Same as the second verse in the other version)
=================================================

I have heard of extra verses, but this is a case of a changed verse.
Any thoughts?

The Lata version has completely different verses from the above,
more loving certainly. YahaaN pe laDka seems like a bit of a doormat smile1.gif

sangeetbhakt:

Perhaps the original movie had two versions sung by Mukesh-ji, but the DVD had only one. But then, since I don't watch the movie and only record the songs, I cannot vouch for it! Maybe there is a brief sequence with the different staza, not a full song.

But, as you pointed out, this is a curious difference. We know that the songs were recorded separately for the movie and for the disc. But why with different lyrics? blab.gif

A famous/popular song of Mukesh-ji. In this DVD rip I've retained the lines of the 'doha' before the song, which is usually not found on the recording in audio albums.
