Thats the problem--so many of the asha songs just do not get released esp in combo albums cry.gif

That this sprightly song is not remixed is perhaps because nobody can quite sing it the way she did 45 years ago!

Hi all,
There wasa song recorded by Ashaji for the film Naya Daur 'Ek diwaana aate-jaate hamse chhed kare, sakhi re voh kya maange", music by OP Naiyyar. I heard this from radio Ceylone but not available on cassettes/CDs in India. Does anyone has this song? It was not included in the film also.

The VN book lists 7 Asha solos from Hong Kong!!!! Do U have any of these?

Rangeela (1953) music by jamal sen --loads of asha songs
Hulla Gulla (1954) music by Nisar Bazmi.
ASha solos from Miss Coca Cola (3 songs)
Marine drive (1955) music by N Dutta
This number from Rukhsana--din raat jafaein karte hain, dil leke sada tadapte hain...
Society--music by SD Burman--1955.
Baap re--hope U have not fainted seeing this long tough list.
If I get even one of these obscure numbers it would be a high treat!

As for the others, I don't have the albums. Perhaps the are included in some other compilations based on Singer or Lyricist or MD) but they will be hard to find.

I might have come across a song or two from "Marine Drive" and "Miss Coca Cola"in my archives, but cannot vouch for that.

One of these days when I'm digging for something else, I might just find Priya sitting on Marine Drive and sipping a Coke.

Yup I have made queries in many places and hunted high and low--but no luck sad1.gif Hamaracd needless to say does not have them. sad1.gif Methinks one day me will loot Asha's house and hunt for whatever original lps she may possess ph34r.gif (P the extreme BAD fan)

Check those hallowed archives Unni check them!!!!! Have seen the Mukesh duets from MCC but not the others--the Geeta songs are also available--BTW don't U think we should have a Geeta forum too on hf? Achcha idea hai na?

Can you believe that the singers themselves do not possess a lot of the songs they have sung? I once had the privilege of providing the classical singer Laxmi Shankar with a copy of a song she had sung for a movie!

IMHO, with so many great singers, it would be redundant and impractical to have a forum for each. What about Talat and Manna Dey, apart from Geeta? Unless the extent of activity justifies it, a dedicated thread in SKS would be an easier alternative (as extenok has created for Talat-sahab or the manner in which the Shuklas upload).

The "HONG KONG" album has 8 of the 9 tracks you listed. The only one missing is the duet "Tumhari adaon pe ae husnwalo".
