The song is complete, Thakur-saab!
Movie is Ladki, 1954. MD was C. Ramachandra.

Rom-bhai, wasn't this song set to tune by Dhaniram & Sudarshan?

Looking forward to inputs on this.

Regards-Archie.

Dear Rom-bhai,

Thanks for your feedback.

I do not have access to Vishwas Nerurkar's treatise right now but I think I read the names of Sudarshan & Dhaniram there.

Did a google search & came across these links:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259390/fullcredits
http://www.khojhyderabad.com/Downloads/MP3/Ladki.htm

C Ramchandra's name features in both these links. I'm sure he was involved. Wonder, who Sudarshan & Dhaniram were. Annasaheb's assistants, contemporaries or seniors?

If one listens to the interlude pieces of Annasaheb's 'shola jo bhadke', one can understand how 'shaadi, kismat ki baat baat hain' was inspired.

Hence we can perhaps conclude that Annasaheb was definitely involved in this number. Sudarshan & Dhaniram notwithstanding.

Regards-Archie.

Thanks N!
I too remember now that the name on the VCD of the movie is not that of CR... though I hadn't remembered the names actually credited with the music.
And Archie-da, now that you mention it, there is some similarity in the interlude music of Shola Jo Bhadke and this one song...
Movie came in 1954... by that time, wasn't CR a well established MD? Maybe Sudarshan & Dhaniram were his assistants, or are perhaps assumed names....

Oh yes! Annasaheb was a BIG name from the late 40's. Some of his compositions for Lata-bai in the 50-s are just peerless.

Thank you. Some search results show the MD as VD Varman.

I thought the name listed as "B. D. Burman" was a typo on the disc cover, and assumed that it would have been S. D. Burman. But the movie titles also showed the name of the MD as B. D. Burman! ohmy.gif

Here's a beautiful number from the rare Kishore/OPN combination, a 'must' download if you don't already have it:
