Nothing new about this song. Just that it is such a nostalgic "great". One that would feature in any compilation of the greatest duets in HFM. This U/L is really intended for this song to become part of the Songs Library.

U/L: "Meri neendon mein tum" (Kishore Kumar & Shamshad Begum / Film: 'NAYA ANDAZ" / Music: OPN)

If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Another great nostalgic number.

U/L: "Yeh raatein yeh mausam" (Kishore Kumar & Asha Bhonsle / Film: DILLI KA THUG" / Music: OPN)

You may also want to check out the different "Yeh Raatein yeh mausam" of Hemant Kumar posted today in SKS.

Unni,

Thanks for providing the old Kishore song Rim Jhim (1949) KP - Jag Mag Jag Mag Karta Nikla.

Do you happen to have another Kishore song from that era -- Fareb (1953) AB - Husn Bhi Hai Udas Udas? Thanks again.

Ajay

Yes it is Kishore’s first, he mentioned in an interview and also hummed a few lines.

Poppy/Iqbal:

There's a little something I feel about these two songs, one his first recording in HFM, and the other among his earliest:

In "Marne ki duva" the singing style is reminiscent of Saigal-sahab. But in "Husn bhi hai", Kishore-da has got away from that and his own distinct style/voice is heard here.

If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Kishore-da is one of the HFM artistes who has sung in Malayalam, the others being Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Talat Mahmood and Asha Bhosle. Reportedly, Rafi-sahab was scheduled to record a song in Malayalam, but with his sudden demise it remained unfulfilled.

For die-hard fans of Kishore-da, here is a bit of history.

U/L: "Chaytten kaydee" (Kishore Kumar sings in Malayalam)

When you listen to the song, it will be obvious that it is a scene with children, and the words/lines are simple, as required when one communicates with kids.

"Chaytten" = Elder brother
"Kaydee" = Rogue (originates from "k.d.", i.e. "known delinquent")
"Aniyan" = Younger brother
"Paydee" = Fear/Fearful
