I was wondering...was the other Lata song (#6 above), Kis Kis Ko Deepak...was that uploaded earlier ? If not...could someone upload that one...might as well have all the Lata numbers from this film..

This one is only for the connoisseurs. 1949. The voice of a 21 year-old Lata-ji, perhaps before her first (Hillman) car! Recorded from DVD and sound-edited, yet the track is of poor quality with skips and what-not. All the same.

This is what nostalgia is made of.

July 14th was the 30th anniversary of Madan Mohan's passing away

In loving memory of his genius and for the listening pleasure of all his fans here - i have uploaded one of his rare .... and one of my most favourite, tunes in the MADAN MOHAN FORUM

The song is NAINON MEIN PYAR DOLE from the film Sheroo ( 1957 ) - lyrics by Kaif Irfani .. and sung effortlessly by the nightingale LATA MANGESHKAR

I love the rhythm and the lilt of this song and it's so well orchestrated too - pity, as usual, ( like many films of MM ) the movie was a flop ... but what a treasure lies in this flop movie ! Who knows what the story of the movie was ... but the song will live forever.

You will find this to be quite a different type of song - Latas voice itself acquires new dimensions as she does full justice to a soft, haunting, melodious tune which she has sung in a very soft way ...probably on a lower scale than usual - somewhat like in that song in Anupama ( kuch dil ne kaha ). Do hear it.
