એક મનુષ્ય જંગલમાંથી પસાર થતો હતો. એને રસ્તામાં ચાર સ્ત્રીઓ મળી. પહેલી સ્ત્રીને એણે પૂછ્યું :
‘બહેન, તારું નામ શું ?’ એણે કહ્યું : ‘બુદ્ધિ’ ‘ક્યાં રહે છે ?’ ‘મનુષ્યના મગજમાં’ બીજી સ્ત્રીની સામે જોઈને એણે પૂછયું : ‘બહેન, તારું નામ શું ?’ ‘લજ્જા’ ‘અચ્છા, તું ક્યાં રહે છે ?’ ‘આંખોમાં’ ત્રીજી સ્ત્રીની તરફ વળીને એણે પૂછયું : ‘શું છે તારું નામ ?’ ‘હિંમત’ ‘બહેન, તું ક્યાં રહે છે ?’ ‘હ્રદયમાં’ ચોથી સ્ત્રીને પૂછયું : ‘બોલ, તારું નામ શું ?’ ‘તંદુરસ્તી’ ‘તું ક્યાં રહે છે ?’ ‘પેટમાં’ આ બધા ઉત્તરો સાંભળીને પ્રસન્ન મને તે આગળ ચાલ્યો. એટલામાં એને ચાર પુરુષો મળ્યા. એમાંથી એકને બોલાવીને પૂછયું : ‘ભાઈ, તારું નામ શું ?’ ‘ક્રોધ’ ‘તારું રહેવાનું ?’ ‘મગજમાં’ ‘પણ મગજમાં તો બુદ્ધિ રહે છે, તું કઈ રીતે રહી શકે ?’ ‘જ્યારે હું આવું છું ત્યારે બુદ્ધિ ત્યાંથી વિદાય લેતી હોય છે.’ બીજા પુરુષ તરફ ફરીને એણે સવાલ કર્યો : ‘તારું શું નામ ?’ ‘લોભ’ ‘તારું રહેવાનું ક્યાં ?’ ‘આંખોમાં’ ‘પણ ભાઈ, આંખોમાં તો લજ્જા રહે છે. તું કેમ રહી શકે ? ‘વાત એમ છે કે જ્યારે હું આવું છું ત્યારે લજ્જા ત્યાંથી ભાગી જાય છે.’ ત્રીજા પુરુષને પૂછયું : ‘તારું નામ શું ?’ ‘ભય’ ‘તું ક્યાં રહે છે ?’ ‘હ્રદયમાં’ ‘અરે, હ્રદયમાં તો હિંમત રહે છે. તું કેવી રીતે વસી શકે ?’ ‘જ્યારે હું આવું છું ત્યારે હિંમત ત્યાંથી રવાના થાય છે.’ ચોથા પુરુષને સવાલ કર્યો. ‘તારું નામ શું ?’ ’રોગ’ ‘તું ક્યાં રહે છે?’ ’પેટમાં’ ‘અરે, પેટમાં તો તંદુરસ્તી રહે છે, તું કેવી રીતે રહી શકે ?’ ‘હું આવું છું ત્યારે તંદુરસ્તી ત્યાંથી ચાલી જાય છે.’ આ ચાર સ્ત્રીઓના પ્રતીકમાં ગુણ દર્શાવ્યા છે અને ચાર પુરુષોના પ્રતીકમાં દોષ દર્શાવ્યા છે. જ્યારે જીવનમાં દોષનો પ્રવેશ થાય છે ત્યારે એના પ્રતિપક્ષી ગુણો નાશ પામે છે. I am new here and came via many interesting stops looking for Pankhida and other songs. Thank you Jay - jindagi ma ketlu kamana re, jara saravalo rakhjo, mtem maari maa gaati. Songs touch you and good thoughts touch you too. What else is in a world which has its own issues to contend with?
