Vikas ji's request,

Phir Aane Laga Wohi Pyar Ka Alaam, with Usha Khanna (I wonder why). Yeh Dil Kisko Doon (1963), Iqbal Quereshi, Qamar Jalalabadi.

4:34 mins, 96mp3pro.

Such melody and romance. Lovely!!

excellento! a song that gives you a "zing"

A similar but mellower song also by the same music director with only " un hu" by the female part: " Thehriye hosh mein aaoo to chale jaayega"! fantastic

QUOTE(unni @ Jan 23 2005, 11:44 PM)
Initially he went by the name of Chitalkar, at the time he was an aspiring singer. Therefore, in the Bombay film industry he was known by that name even when he became a Music Director. It is believed  that he assumed the name "C. Ramchandra" when he started composing music for films made in Madras.

As the story goes, a Bombay film producer is said to have suggested to "Chitalkar" to take inspiration from this "C. Ramchandra" who was creating popular songs for films made in Madras! tongue.gif

Going be the pattern of Maharashtrian names, I guess his name would really have been Ramchandra Chitalkar.

You're right Unni, Shantaram Vankudri (V.Shantaram) started the trend. Another example is Jayshree T (Talpade)

The singers in this number are usually listed as Asha/Usha/Hemlatha. But the song is preceded by a small but beautiful portion rendered by Rafi-sahab. If somebody has a 'cleaner' version, please upload it:

This man is just amazing. The same singer who rendered a soulful "Mun mora baavra" could also sing this totally different mast folksy number ---  and each time completely identifying with the mood of the song.

Music by the sitar maestro and India's best-known music ambassador, Ravi Shankar. Film: GO-DAAN.

where can i find this song?
