YaarMere:

I think we've obtained it!

Just guessing, but "Laut Ke Aa" must have been recorded as a solo by Rafi-sahab. "Subah Chaley" by Manna Dey & chorus was heard earlier in the movie as the background to the titles, and most likely was added to the solo track.

By Great Lucifer's beard Unni-ji you did it!! Just awesum!!

I have to be honest I so dont remember M. Dey being a part of this (I think I'll open Nero editor).

I also have a solo version of AA Bhi Jaa, its my most prefeered song in this film.

PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. IN TERMS OF QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & VERSATILITY, RAFISAAB IS INFINITE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ALL SINGERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HIM.

This song has featured earlier in the forum. Here is a recording derived from the movie sound-track:

Thanks Unni for this song ... I am just enjoying it now. I had not heard this one before - only the other better known 'Maana mere haseen sanam' ( which is one of my Rafi favourites ) from the same movie

The OPNayyar effect is so visible, now and then, in G S Kohli's music - quite natural since he was his assistant for such a long time. But he still has his own style - with several good tunes to his credit - and pretty good orchestration - he didn't quite make the grade unfortunately, some people just don't have good luck at the right time, i suppose

Unni,
This song is really growing on me ... the more i listen to it !! Thanks again

Did you get this from the movie soundtrack ? If so, can you check the name of the lyricist for the movie - i have conflicting info - one saying Anjaan , the other saying Yogesh

The film titles list the lyricists for the movie as Anjaan and Yogesh. No idea who wrote this particular song.

Incidentally, I'd known the song "Maana Merey Haseen Sanam" as a track from "Adventures of Robin Hood".

The disc cover shows the name of the movie as "Robin Hood".

In the titles, the full name of the movie is "Adventures of Robin Hood and Bandits"!

If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Unni

Yes, Earth music also notes it as The adventures of Robin Hood and bandits !! Must be right since it is in the movie's screen title

Though on the radio it has always been referred to as 'The adventures of robin hood' only - ever since the days it was first released on radio - i have heard it so many times ( used to wait for this song to come on the radio .... those days )

So, the mystery continues - Yogesh Vs Anjaan....

By the way, I wouldn't mind a good version of 'maana mere haseen sanam'- if you have a good one from the movie. I have one which I inherited with many defects - had to do some major surgery on it - cut and paste between verses (wherever same music / words were repeating !!) etc
