Actually was looking for a much more staid track from Manoranjan "Chori Chori Solah Sringaar Karoongi" with Sanjeev in half pants Anyone?

Okay to get back on track...

Madhubala again. The first time I saw this song I was charmed. I have seen later movies of Dilip Kumar, so never been able to really appreciate him. He is young and debonair in this song and so natural, I quite see his appeal now. Enough has been said about her already Their striking chemistry in this song led me to some reading on the net. She was just 17 in this film (Tarana) - their first film together? and they probably were involved by the time this song came around, their body language says it all, they seem like young lovers - else it's a tremendous piece of efortless acting! Over to Madhz

What an exquisite song. A young, gawky and charming Madhubala and a suave Dilip Kumar pulling her nose affectionately...sigh!!! Their chemistry is so evident. DK strolling casually through the song, passionate and leisurely at the same time, IMO only he could pull it off. Now for some pure gossip, totally uncorroborated...apparently Madhubala sent DK a red rose on the sets with a note saying that if he loved her he would accept it. Naturally the gentleman could not refuse the rose... Another piece of apocryphal gossip...apparently she was also attracted to Premnath at this point in time...

Beginning with Taraana(1951), their romance and pairing ended with Mughal e Azam(1960) where they(DK and Madhubala) were not even on talking terms. Remember the scene in Mughal e Azam where DK caresses her with a feather with Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's song in the background? What an iconic moment emerging out of so much bitterness! The stuff legends are made of.

Exquisite is the right word, trust you to hit the nail on the head , but then it's the least one would expect from someone that uses apocryphal and iconic (yep, can't picture Madhubala n DK without the feather!) in sentences About the multi- attractions, I am sure all of us here know what it's to be 17 (except Akthar maybe, or has he got there??) - zee hormones are prolly raging rampant and then if one is at close quarters with so many good looking young men... maybe that's why her father was so vigilant. Madhubala comes across as a pretty stormy person in whatever I've read up so far. No wonder, with all the pressures and conflicts surrounding her.

I have some lovely videos up my sleeve, time permitting will upload them soon. Thank you for your lovely descriptions, for some reason they enhance my enjoyment of these videos too, so keep them coming as and when something touches you.

I had a really good laugh at but one has to draw the line at watching her wash those stairs ecstatically. Wonder what you'll make of a be-towelled Saira (FS ji, will u/l it soon, thank you for your patience).
