Meanwhile here's the last one from Amrapali - Tadap yeh din raat ki. The song wasn't as "romantic" as I remembered and Vyjanthimala even more beautiful than I remembered... all pretty in pink this time... and a lovely song/ picturisation - see for your self.

I have unwittingly chopped off a second or two at the end, I apologise. I didn't want to rip it all over again, please forgive my sloth.

Download all the parts in one folder, extracting any one will automatically extract and join the remaining parts. Easy huh?

Ahhhh Sangam! Yes of course, I forgot the bathing suit But then Raj Kapoor had that effect on his leading ladies, I remember Nargis in a swim suit too (ancient as you said Madhavi ofc). Hmmm Amrapali came after Sangam (I just looked it up), so she'd shed some of her inhibitins by then I guess; yep makes sense what you said there Madhz. I wouldn't worry about meandering threads, let it go where it will.

Waheeda Rehman did a few bold roles, Guide's Rosie being one of them. I dunno if the English version was more ground breaking, haven't seen it; anyone?? She was a working woman in many films - Pyaasa, Mujhe Jeene Do (I assume?), Teesri Kasam - come to mind immediately, but I don't recall her attire being less than modest in whatever I have seen.

Which reminds me. I want a video of her snake dance in Guide, my DVD doesn't have it! I was so disappointed. If anyone can upload it in good quality, I'd be much obliged. Where's SB? Hadn't he promised me something aeons ago?? Calling SB

Heavens Tji,

Zeenie baby is much worse than what I remembered of her in this movie. I sympathise with her attempts at acting, but one has to draw the line at watching her wash those stairs ecstatically. You got to make up for it by uploading a nicer, oomphier song of hers.

Munni Begum was divine. Yes I love the muskura do song too. She did sing that song for the show . She ended the show with "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom Sharabi" and "Dama Dam Mast Kalander" , the entire audience was swinging to it. What a voice and what superb enunciation of words, talk about oomph, she does it by raising her voice to a boom and lowering it to a whisper. Okay I am off before someone accuses me of spamming.
