That was a really fast response. Looks like you are always beside your computer.

I am also from Mangalore but have a lot of GSB friends here in Dubai - the Pai's and the Shenoy's, etc. That's why I found your Konkani so familiar. I also visit Mangalore once in six months.

Mangalore City, where I often go, is now becoming like Mumbai, unfortunately. I prefer the outskirts though - the quieter fields and green and unpolluted areas.

There are some nice places in the City though where I hang out with my friends and frequent quite often - Ideals (the Gadbad place), Juice Junction, Jerosa, Milagres, etc. I am going there next week - for a week.
