Asha and some fun.. !!

i was watching repeat telecast of Hridaynath's interview in phone-in programme on DD Sahyadri.

in that programme, Asha phoned and said that "i am Kamakshi Mangeshkar speaking and i would like to ask
hridaynath ji 2 questions.
1) why doesn't he sing his own compositions when he has got so sweet voice?
2) why doesnt he compose more songs and engage latadidi and ashatai in recordings?"

hridayanth replied that he had identified her voice since he is a music director.
he furthur said that she admires his voice because he is her sibling. very few ppl outside his family think likewise.
for composing songs and recordings, he replied that his sisters are too way busy to pay any attention to his recordings.

I remember DD Marathi once had an hr long interview with Asha and I watched the whole thing and understood hardly anything. sad1.gif Never occured to me to hook in my walkman and get an audio rec and ask someone to translate. doh.gif

i remember watching her two interviews on DD. smile3.gif

one was your regular phone-in programme and second was promotional interview for her classic album "Ritu Hirwa".

in ph-in programme, some caller addressed her as latadidi and the interviewer wanted to correct him.
but asha stopped her saying that it didnt matter since lata is her elder sister and she wouldn't mind that. rolleyes.gif

in Ritu Hirwa programme, asha talked about those songs. also those songs were picturised on her.
those videos are 1000 times better than 1 2 cha cha video and likes.
(though she hardly danced biggrin.gif )
