Are you supposed to use 7 and 3 only 2 times each?

If not, then:
[(7+3)*3] - 7 + (3/3)

(something tells me this is not correct, though... wink2.gif

OK Mandrake , Vivek and all the other bright mathematicians who frequent this thread.

If I go to Melbourne tomorrow, and the temperature there is 0 degree, and I am told that the next day will be twice as cold, what will the temperature be the next day?

Sorry if I barged in the middle of some serious calculations going on here...........

Anil, the mathematical answer would be still zero, I guess.

But then, if it was so simple, you wouldn't ask it, right? wink2.gif

Interesting. I've always failed in maths. So what's the right answer? blab.gif

Mandrake, zero is correct bhai. I think it boils down to 0 multiplied by 2 which is equal to 0.

Divyanjali

I dont think it will make any difference to the answer whether its measured in Celsius or Farenheit.

Anil, but zero degree temperature cannot be the coldest, na?

When you are told 'twice as cold', could it be -1?

I've never been to a place where it snows, but have heard that it grows as cold as -20. In fact the typical temperature at the Siachen glacier (the world's highest battle-field) is -40!!

ya i know Anil ji.. but i was just playing... smile1.gif

Temp C = 0 degree Celsius

C = 5 / 9 * (F-32) => F = 32 degree Farenheit

F*2 = 64

if temp is F = 0 F

then C = -18 degree celsius (approx)
so 2*C = -36 C

Ok, perhaps the wrong place to ask the most obvious riddle wink2.gif

Water freezes at zero degree celsius. So what happens to the aquatic life?

They probably go down to the bottom where water doesn't freeze. Just an educated guess!
