A perpetual favourite from among Geeta-ji's renditions, from "AAR PAAR", picturized on Shakila with Guru Dutt also on-screen.

IT IS O.P NAYYAR MUSIC DIRECTOR, MAJROOH LYRICIST. I THINK THIS IS JUST A SLIP IN UNNIJI'S PART.IT WAS AAR PAAR THAT OPEE WAS GIVEN TO COMPOSE AS BAAZ WAS A FAILURE AND GURU DUTT COULD NOT PAY HIM.

Bappa-da:

Thanks for the correction. I've accordingly changed the tag.

About copying DVD clips:

To copy the clip, I use a software called "AoA DVD RIPPER", which is not freeware. Hopefully one of our members can suggest the name of some freeware that can be downloaded to copy clips.

I copy the clip in AVI format which creates a huge file. Then I convert the AVI file to Real Media format to reduce the file size. For this I use a freeware called "ZILLA DVD CONVERTER". I choose the setting '256k DSL or Cable" which results in 225kbps at the time of viewing.

I am a novice at this and took a crash course over just 2 days! I'm sure our tech experts like Pradeep, BJ and Anurag would have a lot of valuable suggestions for us.

If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

An abiding classic, not only of HFM but of Bollywood films also. The lyrics of Sahir Ludhianvi, the music of S. D. Burman, the voice of Geeta Dutt, picturized on Waheeda Rehman by Guru Dutt, who also features in this scene from 'PYAASA".

As a prelude, this song sequence from the 1957 movie also features the lines "Phir Na Keejey Meri Gustaakh Nigaahi Ka Gila, Dekhiyey Aap Ne Phir Pyar Se Dekha Mujhko" in the voice of Geeta-ji --- not found in the audio issues of the song "Jaaney Kya Tooney Kahi" --- lines later immortalized in the voices of Mukesh-ji and Asha-ji in the 1958 movie "PHIR SUBAH HOGI".

Video-clip of Lata-ji's tribute to Geeta-ji:

Lata Mangeshkar singing Geeta-ji's classic "Waqt Ne Kiya" from "KAAGAZ KE PHOOL", with scenes from the song picturization featuring Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman, and photographs of Geeta-ji.

In Windows Media Video format which also plays on Real Player:

What are the other movies you have?????
Give us a list. Then we will request video clips.

Of course Pyaasa the whole movie is worth keeping. I keep all my Guru Dutt collections as a valued treasure.
Unniji waiting for your reply!!

I've only approximately 90 DVDs of movies and about a dozen VCDs, plus a few song compilation DVDs. Haven't made a list yet but intend to. I'll start with clips from "JOGAN" which is dominated by the voice of Geeta-ji. Most likely after that will be "AAR PAAR" which again had Geeta-ji all the way. Followed by "PYAASA".

thanks a lot in advance.

mahesh

p.s-i am deeply anguished at the removal of geeta dutt forum from hf homepage, when it was doing so well.

I saw JOGAN when I was in grade 9. Long time I almost forgot.
