QUOTE(sangeetbhakt @ May 24 2005, 04:44 AM)
Of course I know how it sounds.  It is just that you got me all confused with
the "original" version.  This song along with "Mala he Dattaguru disale" have
loooooooooooooooooong been my favorite Asha songs in Marathi.  I just
could not believe YOU did not have a complete version of the "original".  I hope
you have the complete "Dattaguru" song at least.  If not, let me know and I
will upload it.  BTW, who composed the music for the it?  My records say that
the song is from the film "Aami jaato aamcha gaava".

U thought I was talking abt sant Dnyaneshwar singing it????? laugh.gif
The only Marathi songs I had till now were all from HCD and their collection is limited. The first time I heard kanada vo vithalu was when Lata uled it and I fell in love with it. Then realised i had it on this cass and was ecstatic only to realise it was incomplete.
Have never heard the dattaguru song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doh.gif
U want to know who composed music for the it??? What is the it??? rollf.gif
Thanks everyone for all the gems here. Will dl them tonight and listen. smile1.gif

Priya, you had said earlier that you can compete with a maharashtrian on the collection of marathi songs.
But I often see you and Lata exchanging/uploading fairly common numbers.
Is it that what is fairly common to us here in Maharashtra, isn't so to you two?

Would you two have a wishlist? Maybe I could u/l something out of that...

Self - belief is the most potent force.

Hi Mandrake!
What I said abt competing with a Maharashtrian was said in jest tho I do have a good collection of Asha songs. But what I have is from hamaracd. Also a few albums like Ritu Hirawa and others from online sites which used to sell Marathi cassettes and cds. But obviously here in Kerala what is common to u guys will be rare.
I really do not have a wishlist. With Asha's Hindi songs there is the VN book so one can look at the listings and know what one does not have. With songs in other languages I do not know what she has sung. Just buy whatever I see that I do not have. If U have a list, could tell U the songs I do not have. But otherwise I hardly know what she has sung in Marathi, whether film or non film. sad1.gif

Got home today and just dled this song!!!! Thanks a lot. But now I am even more confused. I compared it with the incomplete song I have and it seems a little different. Is it just the recording--mine is from cassette, also seems a trifle faster but that is no indication. The voice is a little different too and yet otherwise barring the opening music sounds quite the same? When one cannot understand the language and one listens to several versions one ends up hairpull.gif
Am attaching the incomplete copy I have in low br. Can U check it out and tell me if it is the same version or a different one. I have cut out the prelude of some guy talking. This must be a film version? Which album is Ur copy from?
If Asha has recorded a song 10 times then i want all 10 versions. doh.gif
