For - Iamjagdish
Here here again , you got confused - the staement about competition is not mentioned for Rafi sahab and other singers . and that post was refered to sharmilla .
what i meant was by mentioning the songs of difficult nature , It should'nt be considered as a competition for MR ANIL BAJPAI . ( It was just my idea and i always do whenevr i meet a Rafi sahab follower to sing those particular songs , so he can Enjoy his passion more passionately ). These songs ( which i listed and will list more ) are Rafi sahabs best in all terms ( popularity is not criteria here ) .

Well Shanawaaz, I think you are taking my comments personally. However, I do not intend to hurt anyone in anyway. I should also say that I view things more critcally, but I aim at constructive criticism, not hurting anyone. The only point that I wanted to convey is that rather than basing one's learning curve on a singer, base it on the composition. Like Mukesh Ji and KishoreDa even Rafi Saahab has sung simple compositions.

I agree that amatuer singers (eg Anil) should not consider singing difficult songs as competition. However, oversimplifying a song will not help in one's growth as a singer. Our love and respect for our favourite singers often makes us attempt difficult songs rendered by them.. However, my point is let just our passions about our singers not dominate in making us attempt these songs. I am quoting this assuming that one wants to improve as a singer. Plz do not consider this as a duel between me and Shananwaaz. Anyone else can also freely give their views regd this.

Finally I suggest an improvement on the song "Chaudhavi Ka Chaand" that was posted. There are times when the "ho" part after lajawaab is extended....Try it out...

"It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure." -- Albert Einstein

Sharmila ji,
I am sorry for the delay in opining, I am always reluctant to opine because, I really don't think I know enough to opine. Still, since you asked specifically, I did listen to the songs you had uploaded. The only way I can express this is - I normally hate it when someone sings the Legends' songs. I am very allergic - to put it mildly. Could never stand Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal singing Rafi saab's and Lata ji's songs. I also remember someone sang Geeta Dutt's songs and I had a fight with my husband for buying that CD. It's been banished from the home (those days I had that much influence tongue.gif ). Anyways, when I heard this gentleman sing, I felt no such revulsion!! This is all I can say. I could enjoy his singing. Why and what and how, I have no clue. I hope I can get to hear him sing live, do let me know whenever he performs here, neighbour smile1.gif

Phir Anil Bajpai.............Could not get better quality audio...as I resorted to Sound recorder again to convert some songs from video to audio....
but I would appreciate if some one crosses the obstacles in music quality and looks beyond..
Will upload more songs....if anyone is interested..........
He will be performing live in Chennai on June 17th and 25th and performs in Mumbai all the time..
Heres a song from Haqeeqat........

Sharmila Ji, Can you please confirm whether this song "Main Yeh Sochkar" is a live recording of Anil... or studio recorded stuff? If live, please let me know from which concert of his/his troupe was it taken. Thanks in advance smile1.gif I've been lucky enough to have met this singer, and also attended most of his concerts in Mumbai. I also do have some of his concert videos (Of his performances with the group "Golden Greats", and also some cassettes of their live concerts..... He's really amazing, really blessed singer thumbs-up.gif) As far as I remember, his best rendition of the song you have uploaded (Main Yeh Sochkar), was in one of the older concerts of Golden Greats (It was a Madan-Mohan special) in Chembur, Mumbai, where Anil sang the vocals, and was accompanied by Jitendra Thakur (A leading violinist from the Hindi film industry), who played the violin parts originally played by Pyarelal Ji smile1.gif I sincerely hope this file is a rip of 'THAT' concert smile1.gif

PS: Anil got married recently to a girl from US. I believe he had been to the US for quite some time now, and returned to Mumbai just recently. Did he perform in the US anytime in this visit??? Would have been a grand treat for all Rafi fans, and old music lovers I'm sure thumbs-up.gif

Hi GKShyam ji...you are right on target....this is a rip of "THAT" concert, one abt three years back......with sound recorder and hence the poor quality.........
Its funny that you should mention about Anil's marriage to a girl from US..well ...I am fortunate enough to be her.......(yet unfortunate for the distance between us)........He did perform in New York (though not quite legally) for a small community program........I am interested in getting him shows in the US..but am yet to find any organisers......

Do you think I should u/l some more songs that I ripped from the same show?

thanks for your compliments

WOWOW!!!!!!!!! smile1.gif Kya baat hai........... Infact, I must admit, I had a small doubt whether you were "her" wink2.gif Frankly..... mellow.gif But I hadn't gone through the whole thread in detail, and weren't sure whether you had mentioned these uploads being your husband's...... In most places, I read you mentioning Anil as your "Friend".... smile3.gif Hence I decided to hold my horses back ..... And 'deliberately' added that line in the last post.... tongue1.gif Hehehe wink2.gif Anyways....... Really great to know you here smile1.gif You are very right, you ARE fortunate enough to have such a nice person as your husband...... God Bless You smile1.gif

And thanks a ton for confirming that it is the rip of "THAT" very concert!!!! smile1.gif I must say you made my day smile1.gif I really owe you one for that smile1.gif I shall download this file immediately. Incase, as you said, the quality isn't great since you used Sound Recorder, I have the audio cassette of this live concert. I can try and rip it from the cassette for better quality. But yes, if this file suffices decent quality, I don't think there would be any problem smile1.gif

Yes, it is very much unfortunate that you both stay away from each other.... sad1.gif I'm sure you will be united back real soon smile.gif Any plans of coming down to India??? Or is Anil looking to shift there??? unsure.gif Well...... I would vote for the former, or else we all here would be deprived of listening to him live tongue1.gif biggrin.gif Do you also sing Sharmila Ji??? Do write back. Give our regards to your husband smile1.gif

PS: Is Anil still singing for Golden Greats???? Well, they are having a programme in Chembur Fine Arts this coming week (Salil Chowdhary special)..... Is he a part of the concert??? Do let us know smile1.gif Would be great to see him after quite some time......

And YES!!!!!!!!! "THAT" Concert, in my opinion, was the best ever of Golden Greats till date......... The song selection, singing, instrumentalists.... just about everything was perfect on that day smile.gif You MUST very much upload all the tracks from that concert!!! smile1.gif A real treat for any music lover smile1.gif Anil was simply outstanding that day thumbs-up.gif (And it also happened to be the first time I heard Anil, so that makes it really special tongue1.gif)

And regarding performances in US, a man of such talent, should not, in my opinion, face too much problems in getting concerts. It wont take time for him to get noticed. Try talking to the local Indian-based cultural organisations for a start, show them his Live Videos and stuff. Take up the programmes, however small they may be. More important now, is to make people 'aware' of him. Very soon, I'm sure he would be flooded with offers and concerts there.... smile1.gif All the Best smile1.gif Keep us posted....

PS 2: Have you uploaded any of his videos too here? Or just the audios???? unsure.gif

Hi GKShyamji...

When I posted those earlier messages, I was not yet married to Anil and hence referred to him as my friend.
How did you find the audio quality....? is it passable?
I am looking to shift to India but not really soon...I will definitely not deprive the audience that has supported him so far of listening to him..
Anil is not doing many shows for Golden Greats..he is more with Klub Nostalgia..He will not be in the Salil Chowdhry special.....sorry!

The Madan mohan special was indeed an amazing concert and you are absolutely right about the quality of songs, singers and instrumentalists.....I do not have the video copy with me now....but when I did, I used to listen to it almost daily.

We will try to make some contacts here and hope that works..thanks for your suggestions..

I do not know how to rip a video song by song.......thats one of the reasons I posted just the audio......also frankly I do not have too many videos of Golden greats...

Its great that I could interact with you through HF...pls keep in touch

I will definitely convey your regards to Anil,

Sharmila

A marvellvous treatment and better than the prviously u/l other songs .
even madan mohan would have been impressed .
shall i also say that the violin was masterpiece , exactly the same as in orignal .
the end part should have been more emotional if compared to the way he started .

I will rate anil just next to Anwar .
Anil is surely more Rafi-like than Sonu Nigam .

with best wishes .

Well, nice to hear back from you Sharmila ji smile1.gif Missed Anil very much at yesterday's show.... Hope he's doing fine. smile.gif Well, the audio quality of the file you uploaded is ok, not too bad. I shall try to rip from the audio cassette, and compare the quality with the file you uploaded. In case the ripped version is any better, I shall happily upload the same smile1.gif
Also needed to discuss something important with you, regarding some announcements made at yesterday's concert. Check your inbox for my PM soon thumbs-up.gif
