I do not know if this has been discussed before .
Generally speaking , a song based on any raga(s) has at least 5 notes . Here we can see a song of j u s t - t h r e e - n o t e s --- simply superb . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwGeHvOCxfQ ____________________________________________________ Edit - 30 Dec 2007 Audio of above video clipping is attached here | song by Shreya , IR | 128 kbps | duration : 07m:30s | ____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ * Let Us Quote Only Relevant parts of the posts * * Let Us Purchase the Originals Whenever it is possible * _____________________________________________________________________ |

^ Many Thanks for your kind response .
if I am not mistaken , Maestro has composed it for his Live in Italy concert (2004) . Later he performed Live at a stadium in Chennai for Jaya tv (oct 2005) . I could get a sample of this amazing tune & resampled it (128kbps) for the pleasure of interested members here * | Maestro Ilayaraja composition - 3 in 1 | duration : 2m + 2m | _____________________________________________________________________ * Let Us Quote Only Relevant parts of the posts * * Let Us Purchase the Originals Whenever it is possible * _____________________________________________________________________ |

Thanks Svaram ji. Great clips (loved the Italy concert one). In the video on youtube, SPB talks about the 5 svaras that he had used for composing a song upscale (avaroham). Am I right? Which composition is this?

Many Thanks to you 3 DMs for the interest .
we are going off topic { this is Shreya forum } Anyway ... Maestro IR has been experimenting with many Ragas . Kalyani appears to be a favorite for the composers . Kalaivaniye song from film Sindhubhairavi (Tamil) was composed using only aaroahanam of Kalyani Raga . And Now the main post includes audio of the video clipping _____________________________________________________________________ * Let Us Quote Only Relevant parts of the posts * * Let Us Purchase the Originals Whenever it is possible * _____________________________________________________________________ |
