Kinare Kinare (1963) Here is another movie Chetan Anand made. Apart from him, it starred the great Meena Kumari along with Dev Anand. It boasted several songs, 11 in total. My CD had only nine of them. I am uploading those. Missing two songs are shown in the table below in red italics. If any of the members have them, please share. It is interesting to note that Jaidevji utilized the talents of nine different singers for these 11 songs. The title song sung by Manna Dey is his typical superb rendition that only he can do with so much ease. Now for the details of the songs and the songs themselves ... Here a longer version---Kinare Kinare (1963)- Teri Tasveer Bhi Tujh Jaisi (film version) Lyrics: Nyaya Sharma-- Music: Jaidev File format/bitrate/duration: MP3-VBR-192 kbps-4.11 minutes This post has been edited by mirsa: Jun 4 2008, 09:41 AM |

Mujhe Jeene Do (1963)
This movie was made by Sunil Dutt who broke away from suave roles to play a rugged dacoit, similar to the one he played in "Mother India." It worked. His performance fetched him the best actor award from Filmfare. The movie was every bit a success. It has some of the beautiful lyrics penned by Sahir Saab and several sweet songs composed by Jaidevji. Even today, their freshness lingers. All the songs are from CD. I am also including a brief version of "Tere Bachpan Ko" with Lataji's commentary from her CD. Now for details of the songs and songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

Prem Parbat (1973)
Here is an album with only five songs. My CD had only four of them. I am uploading these. The missing song is shown in red italics in the table below. If anyone of the mebers has it, please share with us. What jumped out for me in this album was that Minu Purshottam singing a solo song. I don't believe I have heard her sing any solos before this. So many singers came and gone with so much talent to offer. It seems like we patronized only few of them and stuck with them forever. Minuji deseved better professionally as she has a very decent voice. Anyway, I am attaching a picture of hers below. Now for details of the songs and songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

Swarapriya,
Thanks a lot for the 'Raat Piyaa Ke Sang' song. Earth Music lists the singer as Madhuri Purandare. Member's familiar with Marathi singers, please confirm the singer. I had noted the singers name for 'banno chudi na khanka' as Minu Purushotham and Noor Jehan-3. Again not sure. Exon |

Swarpriya Ji, Thanks for another excellent u/l. I have heard Minu Purshottam and Mohd. Rafi Live as she was accompanying Rafi Saheb to do the duets on Rafi's tours. And I agree with you that she deserved much more. Vijay |
