(I am sure this has been asked before and I am happy to get the song and have nothing against you encoding in wma, just curious) Is it a better (better quality for same filesize) codec? which software can be used to convert to mp3? besweet doesnt seem to do wma. thanks - 007

nm007(no alphabet for Bond) :
It is a proven fact now that MP3 encolding does not give proper sound quality for the sounds having frequency of more than 7khz. Indian music is dominated by string instruments like sitar, violine, sarod etc.and the frequency range of the sound produced by these instruments is 5-16 khz. If the listeners have good ears...the downgraded quality of these tracks is quite discernible. Although it does not have much impact on the sound of percussion instruments and singers if encoded with a bit rate of 128kbps or more, it produces a shrill in 5-16 khz frequencies rather than keeping the frequencies in original form available on the source. Such is not a case with WMA9. For conversion from mp3 to wma9, a number of free softwares are available and you can download them from download.com regards When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others
