C'mon Mandrake, U are the man for this task !!!! study2.gif
Honestly Lata, with the sort of song you have put up, even Mandrake is going to need a combined dose of Dabur Chyawanprash, Baidyanath Shankhapushpi and Hamdard Cinkara. laugh.gif

Sorry, saw this just now.
No, this is no oont..
Compared to Dnyaneshwar, I am not even an ant...
You are not asking to translate a marathi song. You are asking for an ancient language to be decoded.
Go elsewhere, guys and gals... let me 'rust in piece' wink2.gif

Here's a REAL HUMBLE attempt... sorry if I cannot do it fully..

panduranga kaanti divya tej jhalakati
Pandurang's skin emits a divine radiance

ratna keela faakati prabha
The light spreads as if rays from a diamond

aganita lavanya tejapunjaalale
The beauty is infinitely brilliant

navarnave tethichi shobha
It is impossible to describe its splendour

kanadavo vitthaloo karanaataku
Oh kannada Vithhal of karnataka

tene maja laviyala veedhu
you have made me lose my senses

khola bunthi ghevuni khunaachee palavee
...(?) taking the marked leaves
alavilya needi saadu
called the ....(?)

kanadavo............

shabde vina sanvadu dujevina anuvaadu
Can communicate without words, can translate without help

hey tava kaise ni game
How do you do this?

pare hi parate bolane khuntale
I have no words left

vaikhari kaise ni saange
There is no way to tell you (not sure)
kanadavo...............

paaya padu gele tava paaulchi na dise
wanted to touch your feet, but cannot see them (feet)

ubhaachi swyambhu ase
though you stand tall by yourself (swayambhu = one who's risen by himself)

samor ki paathi mora na kale
is this your front or back, I cannot understand

thakkachi padile kaise
I am dumbstruck

kanadavo.................

kshemalaagi jeeva utaveela majha
I am impatient to be asked after by you (as in - my well being)

mhanavooni sfurataati baahe
that's why I want to do something soon

kshema devu gele tava meechi mee ekali
you asked after me, but I am still alone

aasavala jeeva raahe
I feel unsatiated, unfulfilled

kanadavo..............

The below stanza is not in the song I uploaded......can someone please upload the full song ?

baap rakhumadevivaru hridayicha jaanuni
my heart knows you and rukmini as parents

anabhavu saurasu kela
I have experienced everything (?? not sure here)

drishticha dola paho gele tava
when I try to see with my eyes

bheetari palatu jhalaa
I end up looking inside myself

kanadavo.................

You are welcome, friends. My apologies that it was a rush job. This isn't marathi as spoken today. So I had to draw upon whatever I could remember that I had studied years ago.
Perhaps, in time, the other words too will come back...

Here is the full song
and some of my humble suggestions about the translation

tene maja laviyala veedhu
maajhe chitta tyaachyaavar kendrit jhaale aahe
you make me concentrate in you.

vaikhari kaise ni saange (vaikhari - vaaNii - speach)
How can that be put into speech (when there are no words needed to communicate)

bheetari palatu jhalaa
I got transformed from inside

khola bunthi ghevuni khunaachee palavee
...(?) taking the marked leaves
alavilya needi saadu
called the ....(?)
could that be kannaDa? but I dont know if sant dnyandev could write kannaDa

Thank you for uploading the full version of what is among my favorite Asha
songs ever, in any language. And a big thanx to Mandrake for the lion's share
of the translating. I understand Marathi though it has been 23 years since I
spoke it; this was way above my abilities.

Now what full version is this? The original or the concert one. How is it 'full'?
