Hi everybody!
It seems this thread was languishing inspite of some prominent HF people being in Karnataka (what a shame ) So let me kick-start this with this beautiful number by SP Balasubramanyam. I would appreciate if members further this thread by u/l ing songs with a single criterion: The song should be melodious - very very pleasing to listen to. The mood doesn't matter. Let's see how this goes... Self - belief is the most potent force.

The music for this movie was scored by Salil Chowdhury. Been looking for this album for a long time. N |

Looks like there are no takers for this thread But then who downloaded my u/ls? Or was it just curiosity? Perhaps this one might go the way of all flesh... ...the way to dusty death. (Am I getting too Shakespearean?) Self - belief is the most potent force.

Mandrake I think they are always addressed as Rajan Nagendra na? That is how I remember .. and all along I used to think it was one person N Correct, Nimii! Rajan-Nagendra is how they were referred to. Nagendra died in November 2000. a pauper with just Rs. 141/- as bank balance. It is alleged that Rajan cheated him out of his share (but that is just it, a rumour). Nagendra was admitted to Bowring Hospital for treatment of hernia in august/september. He later developed complications because of his high blood pressure and diabetes. His wife, carrying lunch for him when he was recuperating, couldn't reach the hospital because of the September 28 bundh prompted by Rajkumar's kidnapping. His condition got worse and he suffered a stroke. Incidentally, Rajan and Nagendra were brothers!! Not cousins - real brothers. And the song I uploaded earlier, Neera Bittu nelada mele, is also composed by the same duo. Self - belief is the most potent force.

Hello Mandrake, Being a Kannadiga myself, I can assure you that your efforts won't go wasted. I am sure given the time, there will be many takers for Kannada movie music. I have many of those great oldies with me......from 1950s to 80s. Right now, I am involved with the monumental task of painstakingly remastering those old songs and making them sound better. Once I am done with that, I'll start uploading them and sharing with you as well as other music connoisseurs.....Smile! Shama |

It is nice to see Kannada song fans in HF. Being a Kannadiga from Bangalore(but working elsewhere) it is wonderful that Kannada Kasturi gets its due as far as melody is concerned. There is no dearth of Melodious songs in Kannada films like :
1.Mudala maneya muttina neerina yeraka va hoida nunnane .... 2. Nee bandu nintaga nakku nee nalidaga baara baara.. 3. Nanna ninna manavu serithu ninna nanna ... 4. Doni sagali munde hogali doora teerava serali .... etc etc .... If anybody can add some more melodious sogs I shall be grateful. I would love if some person can u/l any songs listed above. Prakash |
