I happened to check the website of Indian Post department. Here is the list of stamps released in yer 2006. I did not find any information on commemorative postage stamp released on Geetaji here

Sure Paragji.

Now since threre is a limit in d/l &u/l we can get time for more discussion.

Let me start to tell how I became a Geeta Dutt fan.

I am coming from small village of Kerala and I was never interested in serious music.It was during my P.G years in1996-1998 I began to hear old music.First I got couple of Rafi Cassetts.Apart from Rafi only Lata Mangeshkar was known to me at that time.One day during my hostel stay I heared the song 'babuji dheer chalna' from one of hostel rooms and I was immediately impressed by both the song and the singer.But it was not known to anybody who was that singer.

It was in the year 1998 few tragedies stuck in my life and I was left alone.Un dinom zindagi se nafrat karna suru kiya and I felt this life as sad and boring one.I was searching for something which makes me happy.Then I found the old melodies as my friend.I began to spend a lot of time with radio.During those years(98-2003) it was old music only consolation for me.

back to Geeta Dutt.I began to use net only in 2002 and first thing I did was to find out who sang the songs 'babuji dheere' and 'jata kahaam hain' and I got the answer Geeta Dutt.You know I was a fan of an artist for almost 4 years without even knowing her name.

Regarding this thread,when I joined HF there was no forum for Geeta Dutt.That is why I started one thread in Rafi forum with the title 'Geeta Dutt'.After coming here (HF) I got of lot of info and a lot of songs as well of Geeta Dutt.Now I am rich and have a collection of 240 songs of her.

only thing that bothers me is the quality of the songs which prevents us playing the songs.When going for vacation I ll try to get few CDs with good quality.Second thing is lack of time to hear the songs bcs now life again became busy with works.

After reading the biography about guru dutt written by his mother I think most of the things which are written about geeta dutt are not true.But one thing seems to be probable and that is some of her friends were not good and used to give her negative information about the relationship of her husband with waheeda rahman due to which she became victim of alcohol.But one thing seems to be true and that is she love her husband very much and there was clash between her and her husbands ego.
