Sanjay, thx for your compliments! Actually, I have exactly the same problem (slow singing) and that is why I recognised it in your song. I have done some deep thinking on this, and my hypothesis on this is like this. (I might be totally wrong on this though). There are 2 types of people in this world. One who give higher priority to 'swaras' and the other who give higher priority to 'taal' or time. Of course, for great singers, they can do both at the same time. For me, I grope around to get the swars right (of course, all this happens in milliseconds) and ultimately we get the swars right, but in the mean time, time beats us. Other people get the beat right, but most often, while reaching on time, they go slightly off-key. Harish, You are very right there. Slight delay occurs (keeps on occuring) as the mind and ears want to make sure the "swara" is met (correct). This happens especially when there is no background track (which many times hides/masks the flaws in singing or "swara"). Sanjay Sanjay, Re-uploading the song 'Man-re' with proper editing .. Amod Log, ek taraf, maY ko sharaab kehtey hai Uss chasm-e-saaQee shaY ko janaab kehtey hai / |

There is an un-necessary sound (because of the s/w vendor) at the beginning ... which every listner should ignore .. PLEASE.... Amod Welcome to 'Hamari Mehfil', Amod!!! Just downloaded ur song. You are right Sanjay. OMkar bhai ne hum sab ko line mein khada karke ullu banaya I could not wait any further. I straight away went to Ashaji and requested her to sing a duet with me. My duet with Asha Bhonsle Ude Jab Jab Zulfen Teri I am having a problem putting the esnips widget here. Pls go here and listen to it. http://www.esnips.com/web/ishqvishq-MySongs Arey baap re, Harishhhhh!!!! What a daring mannnnn!!!!! And u sung it soo welll re!! Ek kaam kar yaar, your sound level is slightly high; which makes it feel that ur part was mixed later. If its possible, add SLIGHT echo and reduce the sound level to Ashaji's voice. Then see, it would sound as if you sung with her only... Kya mazaa aaya re dost!!! Chakachak Duet!!!!! Bole To Ekdam Jhakaaasssssss!!!!! And put it here re! what prob do u get with eSnips widget? Only THIS MOMENT is in my hand and I just want to live that Perfectly!!! |

Chalo!!!! Now here is the time to post a DUET song of OMkar and Bhavana! Friends, first of all let me thank Bhavana for allowing me to sing with her! When you hear the song, you will clearly notice that she is extremely talented singer!! She not only sings in perfect SUR but also very good in giving expressions in the song! One KADAK salute from me to Bhavana!!! I recorded this song two times. When I recorded it first time, I was not happy AT ALL... All night I was only chainging sides and thinking how can I sing much better (ofc, I still feel I can sing much better than this) but for TODAY this is the BEST I can sing. And sincerely hope that you all would love my voice and everything!! Following are the details of the song! Song: Dekho Maine Dekha Hai Yeh Ik Sapna Sangeet: Rahul Dev Burman Geet: Anand Bakshi Gayak: Amit Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar [OMkar and Bhavana] OMkar Bhau, Kya baat hai, sabko duet ki que mein khada karke aapne chup chaap duet pesh bhi kar diya. Koi baat naheen hum dekh lenge. Just kidding.. Bhau, You appear nervous in the beginning, but you get better and better then after. I can understand your sleepless night (lagta hai duet ka asar ho). Overall, very well sung, and sure as you felt, you could do better than that as you get used to duets. Voice is clear, notes are right and wavering is marvellous. Bhavna ji kya kahena. Woh to professional lagte hai. First I would like to welcome her here. I agree with you all her voice is sweet, she renders beautifuly with correct notations and her voice resembles a lot to Anuradhra ji. I enjoyed this DUET song very much. Keep it up. Thanks Sanjay Arey Naahi Re Sanjay!!! Yaar Bhavana already had sent me the track couple of weeks ago and I have been trying to find time to record my voice over it!!! And really I am very much in queue to sing with GEET madam!!! Sanjay, do u really feel I was nervous in the beginning? I heard Amit Kumar part very very well and I wanted to keep the song exactly as it is. Because dont forget it was R D Burman who had approved its final recording. Each and every part of song is scientifically tested by MDs like Pancham... I was sligghtly cautious while singing first lines, but then I took a little break and then recorded the song and untill I was not happy (ofc, its not the BEST) I did not even send it to Bhavana!! So I guessed its fairly ok and finalized the take... In the line 'Pyar Yahan Hai, Tu Kahan Hai', in 'TU' there is a slight complicated MURKI taken by Amit Kumar... In my version, its bit simple (I had to keep it that way)... And thats where I feel I lacked and feel that I can do much better than this!!! Anyways, dheere dheer sab thhik ho jayega!! Practice makes man perfect!! Arey Yaar log, we have to do something for GEET. She already posted her song... And just because admin is not there how can we wait the post to appear here? Let me ask her if I can post her song here... what do u guys think? Only THIS MOMENT is in my hand and I just want to live that Perfectly!!! |

Khair, ab aapka aur Omkar ka patta duets se cut ho gaya hai. AnwarFan mian ki ab badhati hokar duet ke liye unka number pehle lag jayega Geet ji ke sath. You have sung it very well and you have gone into the song (pure tan man se ho kar gaye ho). I still agree with OMkar, there is loudness level discrepancy. If you could please check that. Ab to iss duet ko sunke to bahot aur doudate aayenge apke sath duet gane ke liye. Aawaz to hamesha jaisi well know hai hi, clear, smooth. Well done bro. BTW Ashaji ne bhi bahot khubi se gaya hai aapke saath. Ek aakhari sawaal, Aapne kaise manage kiya Ashaji ke saath duet gaane ka? Kaun hai aapka manager? Aise track available hai kya? Kaunse track available hai? List hai kya? (yeh mera aakhari awal tha). Sanjay |

Mera Raaz (duet with Ashaji)
There is this software available which can remove the vocals from an audio track. So I removed Rafi Saab's vocals (how criminal of me!) and used it as a Karaoke track Now there are two problems in this. 1. the software doesn't work on all songs. Only the latest ones recorded in stereo. So, we can't use it to generate Karaoke tracks from our 50s and 60s and 70s songs. 2. along with the vocals, some music also disappears. In my song, since i had selectively used the filter (instead of using the filter for the whole song) the background music while I was singing was not as 'bright' as when Asha was singing. If anyone is interested I can generate Karaoke track like these for any songs of Naya Daur and Mughal-E-Azam @OMkar, when I used esnip widgets, it started playing at twice the speed. Don't know the reason. Listened to Geet's voice. Very sweet! Sounds like a 15-yr old girl. When it comes to singing, first comes Rafi saab. Then comes God.

Sanjay, Re-uploading the song 'Man-re' with proper editing .. Amod Amod, heard your song. You have sung it very differently from the original number. Looks like you have sung it in a classical khayal style. If I had not heard the original song, I would have def. said that you have sung well. I am curious to know abt the reasons behind your improvisations. Thanks and looking forward to more songs from you! When it comes to singing, first comes Rafi saab. Then comes God.

Its just one of those occasions when one lets ones hair down. I do listen a lot of Hindustaani Classical music .... may be that has caused, what you have mentioned, to have happened. Amod Amod bhai.. the second stanza is well sung. Actually I like to hear a singing voice with no music. Singing with swara without music is not an easy task. Great effort. |
