Neither of the Arzoo (1950) songs was sung by Rafi - unless there was a version release later which would be very surprising. These two songs were sung by Shamshad and Anil Biswas respectively...and the Arzoo MD was Anil Biswas.

Faaraj ji is spot on. The songs from Aarzo (old) are not by Rafi Sahab . MY APPOLOGIES.

In fact I’d downloaded it from bharatlover.com, (which has around 500 videos of Rafi Sahab songs), and it was listed as Rafi Sahab’s voice. After listening, it is clear it is not, and the mystery is solved that it is Anil Biswas himself. Thanks Faaraj ji

I OWE AN APOLOGY FOR WRONG INDEXING REGARDING THESE TWO SONGS WHICH WERE LATER CLARIFIED BY BOARD MEMBERS

The song ae maut bura ho tera was downloaded by me a month ago from the channel of Sartaj 1961 in youtube. This apparently is from a CD given alongwith a biography of Rafi Sahab. This is mentioned in the preamble to the song. I’d love to have more details about how to get this from the forum members. THE MOVIE WAS WRONGLY MENTIONED BY ME AS AMAR SHAHEED, THE MOVIE IS CHALBAAZ. The other corrections are given below

I knew something was wrong here but I didn't want to comment without hearing em first. I was hoping for a miracle - Rafi sahab as the singer for the Arazoo songs. Swaminathanji, you don't have to be apologetic. These mistakes are bound to happen when you have such a large collection.

Anupama, There was another Bhakt Prahlad in 1977, which was a dubbed film. It had a Rafi-Asha duet - Gori Jhatpat Natkhat. The MD was S. Rajeshwar Rao. You can make this correction in the Rafi filmography you have posted.

I am not sure about the year, but Sangeet in his posting had put the year as 1977 and he is usually right on such matters. Incidentally, "Raja Hiranyakashyap" is also from this film.

Hi All

We are close to the 30th Death anniversary of our beloved Md Rafi Sahab. Even after 30 years, he rules in our hearts.

I’d first of all like to thank all of you for the overwhelming response to my requests regarding the songs of Rafi Sahab of films with the letter A and B. In fact it has been a great month so far, with so many rare songs being uploaded in the forum based on Anumpaji’s wishlist, and the wonderful filmography of 4600 plus numbers she uploaded a couple of days earlier.

This has made my job so simple that now I know which songs to look for!!!

And if there is any hope for Rafi Sahab fans of consolidating their collection, this forum I think would be the key, given the magnanimity of the uploaders.

I am uploading an excel file of songs of Rafi Sahab with the letter C. As in the earlier uploads, the ones in blue are the ones I have, and would love to share (specially due to the points ratio). The ones in red are missing. The list was originally based on the list of Mywaan, which was sent to me by Mr Seshadri, with improvisations. Of course now we have the masterlist of Anumpamaji, which is the most systematic one, apart from being the largest.

I am giving my request list of the songs that I do not have, other than the wishlist of Anupamaji

I think the versin of Duniya Hai Aisi Chalbaaz is the same as the one that was uploaded on HF before. Only the first 1:40 is the Rafi-Lata duet form Chalbaaz. Remianing are clips of other songs.

Thanks for this lovely snippet. The dances by both Dhumal and Mehmood in this song is really a treat, apart from great singing as usual by Rafi Sahab & Manna Dey (in the main song.

Thanks for the uploads. Aditya has rightly pointed out about the chalbaaz song, but at least we have 1.40 min.

The second one, as per Anupama jis list, there are two songs, one O Duniya Walo Kaisa tumhara, and the other being O PAISEWALO KAISA HAI TUMHARA. I presume they are two seperate songs. Can you or someone else clarify this (I had the first one)

You are spot on as usual. Prob it is a YT convert of the small snippets of rare songs in YT uploaded regularly from one of the members who is fond of a tease rather than a full monty! (Trofetjaal channel) Anyway it at least gives a preview about the song.
