Hi, I guess many of you have heard the Umrao Jaan songs by Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar. What do you think about it compared to Khayyam's version?
Me myself, think Malik has done a great effort, but it isn't comparable with Khayyam's. Khayyam's songs are 25 years old, and still as fresh as they were. I dont think Malik's will ever be remembered in the same way...I saw indiafm gave it great critics, but I dont agree with them, neither do I regard indiafm to be objective. I will give Alka Yagnik credit for doing a wonderful job...I think she has sung almost all the songs...I dont think any of todays singers could have done such a good job. But to be said...I have only listened through the album once, and my oppinion may change the next few days  what is your oppinion? Pain is my Destiny and I can't Avoid it!
