Venkat Ji, Well said, I can say 'these are my words penned by Venkat Ji'. You have very truely mentioned, it is an sweating process to distinguish between the voices of Lata & Suman in this duet. Thanks USR Okay, to make the process a little less sweaty ...Lata ji sings the mukhdaa first and then Suman ji. For the antraas, Suman ji sings (just) the first line and the rest is sung by Lata ji. Hope this prevents further perspiration Warm regards, Saksham O yes, it did Saksham Still giddiness feelings 'Ye Hai Ya Woh Hai' USR Dil Shaad Tha Ke Phool Khilenge Bahaar Mein

Uttam bhai, thanks for your kind words. Subir Sen made a big debut through "Main rangeela pyaar ka raahi" (AFAIR) and got some nice songs. Unfortunately could not get big success!
I am not sure as to which song Dwijen Mukherjee made debut with, but I guess he too got some nice songs. And then faded away. Let us not forget Hemantda, a great legendary singer , was also a great and extremley talented composer. Hemantda is considered as the best singer of Rabindra Sangeet too. So in a nutshell, it would have been a tall order for any singer to match Hemantda. Again nothing against any one, but thats the truth. Suman ji has sung some extremely melodious and sweet songs in Hindi (as well as in Marathi). Unfortunately being always compared to the numero uno singer does not help in any ways. What you say? I would *never* want to hear "kuchh aur zamaanaa kahataa hai" in anyone else's voice: they may sing it more *skillfully*, but the passion and depth that MK brings to the song is out of this world! Warm regards, Abhay What a point Abhay! This is one of my most fav songs. Another example from my side.."Kabhi tanahaiyon mein yun hamari yaad aayegi".. Mubarak Beghum will always be remembered for this melody..And come think of it, it was Lata ji who was supposed to sing this in the first place. I dont remember how MB got to sing this eventually, but she has put her heart into it. Cheers Parag Please visit www.geetadutt.com

What a point Abhay! This is one of my most fav songs. Another example from my side.."Kabhi tanahaiyon mein yun hamari yaad aayegi".. Mubarak Beghum will always be remembered for this melody.. Parag...I could add one or two.. Afsana Likh rahi hoon..of Uma devi ( Tun tun ) from Dard. There cant be any replacement for that.. and.. Tum apna Ranjh-o-gam...of Jagjit Kaur from Shagun. I fell in love that with that..and still I am. ..and.. Badnam na hojaye...of Surinder Kaur from Shaheed...and... Phir ek baar kaho..of Dwijen mukerjee from Maya.. With a limited number of songs they have sung, we get them immediately slotted and remember for these numbers. I think that we are fortunate to have them at all...even for these small contributions. May be we can post all these MUST HAVE songs in a thread....Yeh mehfil sitaron ki ?? As for the resemblances with the Numero Unos..what can i say except destiny..Wrong timing. Can you imagine someone like SK in these days?? She could have had her day... What ever it is She definitely deserves a big Bow... USR..thanks for the beautiful song.
