Karan Johar can't imagine kickstarting new Koffee season without Shah Rukh Khan. So the star records a video introduction

PS: AbhiAsh will be the first guests to feature this season

Shah Rukh Khan does not feature in the opening episode oF the third season of Koffee With Karan's (as he did in the earlier two outings). It is Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai who do the honours on November 7 on Star World.

But host Karan Johar cannot imagine kickstarting a new series sans a cuppa with best buddy SRK. As a result, Khan has shot an "introduction" to KWK so he could be a "part" of the show's opening episode.

As KJo puts it, "I cannot do anything without Shah Rukh. Whether it is a film, a fashion show or a chat show. It has to include him. Moreover, the show begins airing during Diwali. I can't be celebrating without including him."

Over the weekend, the producer-director was to shoot for the introductory scenes with SRK in Rome, for the International Film Festival where My Name Is Khan is being screened.

Adds Karan, "I don't need to tell Shah Rukh anything or give him a brief. I just need to give him a mic in hand. He has a way with words."

And King Khan sure knows how to serve the cuppa piping hot. Interestingly, KWK, will have AbhiAsh together on Koffee With Karan for the first time.

Ranbir-Imran's lip-lock
By: The Hitlist Team Date: 2010-11-11 Place: Mumbai

The actors 'lip-locked' twice on Koffee With Karan to get him to cast them in his iconic film with gay characters

Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan found a unique way of putting an end to the speculation around their cold war by cheating a liplock on Koffee with Karan.

They also used the kiss to encourage KJo to cast them in his Dostana sequel.

They demanded that KJo live up to a promise he made to them during an awards show (of casting them in his film). They reminded him that they got an underwear each as a signing token from Karan.

A laugh riot

A source who was present during filming says, "They were a riot on the show.

They were all over each other and if they have a problem, it didn't show. To convince Johar that they would be just as compatible on screen, they ended up kissing twice!

Karan was totally taken aback by their madness. After they kissed the first time, the host asked them to do it again as they returned from a commercial break.

Without hesitation, they embraced each other and broke into another kiss!"

Before the shoot, Ranbir had matched dates according to Imran since the latter was in the middle of a shoot.

"It didn't seem like there was any rivalry between the two. Ranbir graciously adjusted his dates for Imran. They were seen joking and having a long conversation before the shoot."

Good actors or good friends? We'll never know.

Gear up for an emotional joyride!

When Karan Johar revealed that he was hosting his best friend, Shah Rukh Khan on " Koffee With Karan", everybody expected a great show and trust us, it has turned out to be a great one indeed.

From SRK's one-liners to Karan's probing questions, the two had a ball while shooting the episode that will be aired tonight at 9pm on Star World. But the highlight of the show, undoubtedly, came when the two friends, got emotional and Karan also cried during the shoot.

The Badshah of Bollywood told him that he had promised KJo's dad that he would take care of Karan all his life, and then quickly added that it's a lie because it is Karan who has taken care of him instead. KJo, evidently flooded with emotions, broke down. King Khan, making his first ever solo appearance on "Koffee With Karan", was in a totally different avatar. SRK is also at his candid best while talking about his arch rival Salman Khan and several other things that Karan touches upon. Though SRK's humour shines through the episode as he even tells Karan that he is ready to go nude for less than a million rupees for a shoot and puns on the word 'cheap', he is at his reflective best – emotional and evidently vulnerable. The show, which has made headlines with controversies that has been generated so far as a coffee session is all about being *****y and catty – SRK's episode will see the show take a whole new turn that is certain to touch the hearts of millions who will tune in to catch some real camaraderie and friendship.
