I have taken the liberty to pare down the ghazal to what I think are the relevant paras in the Song. Though I'm not too sure about the "peela peela maahtaab" para. I also think there was one more para in the song:

Jee mein aataa hai ki zaalim chaand taare noch loon
Iss kinaare noch loon aur uss kinaare noch loon
Ek do ki baat kyaa saare ke saare noch loon
Ai gham-e-dil kya karoon, ai wahshat-e-dil kya karoon.

Annu Malik's father Sardar Malik used to work in Uday Shankar's troupe. He used to set ghazals like the one above and others like Makhdoom Mohiuddin's "Raat bhar deeda-i-namnaak mein lahraate rahe, saans kee tarha se aap aate rahe jaate rah" to music, and recite it during interval of the shows. One day the producer of Thokar heard Majaaz's Ghazal set to music by Sardar Malik and offered him the film. Sardar Malik agreed on the condition that he wouldn't change the tune or the lyrics. The producer agreed, and thus Sardar Malik's career was launched. His biggest hit was Saranga.
