Here is one that I shot recently. View of downtown Cincinnati from across Ohio river. River is boundary of Ohio and Kentucky (A camera with better lens could have got better results. Check this out) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Cincinnati_skyline.jpg Never knew about this thread Lovely pic, this, Marc Beautiful sky colour too. How did you get this colour? Into the sun (shot at Eastwood metro park Riverside) Beautiful!! How did you get the colour while aiming AT the sun? Filter use kiya kya? Or just a digital camera that works without getting 'blinded'? Which model? Which manufacturer? Self - belief is the most potent force.

I shot this with no filters No filters?? Now I am REALLY curious!! Were you using film or digital camera? If film, what film? Marc, I am totally amazed by the unearthly colours of the sky in many of your pics. How do you manage that? Self - belief is the most potent force.

Or just a digital camera that works without getting 'blinded'? Which model? Which manufacturer? No filter, I am long overdue for SLR. I still use my good old regular digi cam. With sun I have noticed if one has to shoot directly, one has to wait till it's about to set else you do get 'blinded' unless one is working with filters and all. I normally wait till it's about there and then shoot directly - Just another gummy bear fan

Marc, I am totally amazed by the unearthly colours of the sky in many of your pics. How do you manage that? Yes no filters. I did miss having decent SLR when I went to smokeys. That place is amazing. I did not get this right in one go. I had to take three or 4 shots. There was a light bulb on to the right and that was casting good light on wooden pillars, outside was gloomy, dark and foggy. First shot, I am sure I still have that too, was a disaster. Light bulb was in frame and that killed other surroundings. For second I think I used night mode to capture as much light as I could. This time again with bulb in frame it was disaster. Since bulb was bright that caused camera not to wait enough to get more of outside light so again it wasn't good. I pushed blub outside the frame, made kind of shade with my hand so that light of blub didn't come directly to camera… and got this Check out disasters. One without hand shade and one with bulb in frame. (Pics resized) This post has been edited by Marcilo: Aug 25 2009, 07:44 PM Attached image(s) - Just another gummy bear fan

Such an amazing pic
Competetition for Monet? ;-) Great photographs... Lake @ Palace of Gold Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water. - Albert Schweitzer Without music life would be a mistake - Friedrich Nietzsche Where words fail, music speaks - Hans Christian Anderson Music is spiritual. The music business is not - Van Morrison |
