Emotions find wordsin this beautiful anthology of Punjabi poems, poured from the heart by Poetess Amrita Pritam, and evocatively expressed by Gulzarji.
Each memorable verse weaves a landscape of sentiments honed with passion, there is maic in every intonation, beauty in every word. A memorable tribute by Gulzarji and Bhupinder Singh (music) in this CD released in 2007, which also includes a booklet of her poems in Punjabi, and transalated into Hindi and English Posting here some of those poems here - in Hindi and English. The link to the poems: http://www.4shared.com/dir/34944286/8565a8...d_by_Gulza.html Main tumhe phir miloongi Kahan? Kis tarah? Nahin jaanti shayad tumhare takhiyal ki chingari ban kar tumhari cancass par utroongi ya shayad tumhare canvass ke upar ek rahasyamay rekha ban kar khamosh tumhe dekhti rahoongi Ya shayad sooraj ki kiran ban kar tumhare rango mein ghuloongi ya rango ki baahon mein baith kar tumhari canvass ko pata nahi - kaise kahan? par tumhe zaroor miloongi Ya shayad ek chashma bani houngi aur jaise jharno ka pani udta hain main paani ki boondein tumhare jism par maloongi aur ik thandak si ban kar tumhare seene ke saath liptoongi main aur kuch nahin jaanti par itna jaanti hoon ki wakt jo bhi karega is janam mere saath chalega Yeh jism hota hain to sab kuch khatam ho jaata hain par chetna ke dhaage kaaynaati kano ke hote hain main un kano ko chunoongi I will meet you again how and where? I know not Perhaps I will become a figment of your imagination and maybe, spreading myself in a mysterious line on your canvass I will keep gazing at you Perhaps I will become a ray of sunshine, to be embraced by your colours canvass I know not how and where but I will meet you for sure Maybe I will turn into spring, and rub the foaming drops of water on your body, and rest my coolness on your burning chest. I know nothing else but that this life will walk along with me When the body perishes, all perishes; but the threads of memory are woven with enduring specks I will pick these particles, weave the threads and I will meet you again Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water. - Albert Schweitzer Without music life would be a mistake - Friedrich Nietzsche Where words fail, music speaks - Hans Christian Anderson Music is spiritual. The music business is not - Van Morrison |

Water from the cracked vessel I am water from the cracked vessel I will not stay Like lips of thirst it is thirsty to hear say, my placid friend, what you want to say When water can neither be tied or fastened Then, how can tomorrow's debt be paid today. Water is helpless like your thirst Neither will it move not will it stay Today it shines like a peak of thirst But pieces of yesterday will fall from today Yeh riste ghade ka paani kal tak nahin rehna... Is paanu ke kaan pyase pyas ke hothon jaise O mere thande ghoot ke mitra! Kehde jo kuch kehna Aaj ka paani kaise utare kal ki pyaas ka karz Na paani ke kaan se bandhna na palloo mein rehna Dekh ki teri pyas jaisi hain Is paani ki majboori Na ise teri pyas sang chalna na isne yahan baithna Aaj ke badan par paani chamke Pyas ke moti jaisa par aaj ke tan se kal ne chppar jaisa kirana main riste ghade ka paani kal tak nahin rehna Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water. - Albert Schweitzer Without music life would be a mistake - Friedrich Nietzsche Where words fail, music speaks - Hans Christian Anderson Music is spiritual.
