Shyam babu,
I am never saying that Sachin should retire. All I am saying that he should be dropped when not performing over a number of matches. Going back to the drawingboard and correcting the flaws that have crept in is the way to go. He is too awesome to be kept out for long. But to try and correct his technique only in the international arena is not done. He knows this, as no less than Achrekar Sir has told him the same. rahi baat dosti ki, that is a different compartment. It doesn't mean blind defence of flaws... Self - belief is the most potent force.

Fan? I am as big a fan as anyone else of that superman But then, is ganguly far too less a player? Should he be done away with? He's the next best thing in 1-dayers - based on runs scored.. Certainly not. I have always believed that Ganguly should still be playing in ODIs (and not in tests). He is far better ODI player. Sooner we realise that Ganguly can be a crucial part of ODI line-up, better for us. He has capability to destroy the spinners specifically. Cheers, V i V e K ...

Really great that you keep friendship and professionalism in seperate compartments MJ bhau Hope to learn that quality from you..... Have always been caught in dilemmas on that aspect
I agree with what you say sir Going back to the drawing board and ironing out flaws is very much the way to go...... also to ensure a longer & greater career ahead!!! and also greater future for Indian & World Cricket Love Music....... LOVE GK

I must admit I have not watched much cricket latley, only followed
scores and results. So I cannot speak about SRT's techniques. He has gone through some injuries and so not as active latley. But can we really question his talent and attitude. Did he not break the record for no. test centuries a couple of months ago? I think he is a threat to score a century any time he is at the crease. It would also be unfair to expect repeat of his past heroics. Ramesh R a m e s h

There is one new participant in this debate, that is none other than PAK cricketer IMRAN KHAN.
What follows is the excerpts of his column from THE HINDU "On Wednesday, the Indian team needed Tendulkar to stem the rot and inspire those who followed him to play around him. Unfortunately, that did not happen and this is not the first time in his career that Tendulkar failed when the team needed him. Having said that, his vigil at the crease showed that Tendulkar is far from over. Few batsmen would have played with the assurance he showed after being hit on the helmet by Shoaib Akhtar. His strokeplay was confident and powerful, and I still feel that he has the class to continue playing for his country. I also feel that questions about his future are silly because there is no batsman in India to replace him just yet." - Imran khan Can anyone replace TENDULKAR????? n'JOI Vishwa Wise men talk because they have something to say....

Sachin can decide this the best...

Well there is the answer from Sachin Tendulkar - TAKE A BOW.
He did the bat do all the talking. Eventhough it is not the kind of typical sachin's centuries we have seen earlier, he made his intent clear. he is gonna be around for some more years and i myself have voted 5 in the poll. Lets see. Message to the oppositions - BEWARE OF SACHIN. Wise men talk because they have something to say....

I think he is a threat to score a century any time he is at the crease. Ramesh I think it was a very mature inningby Sachin, where he not only scored a century but also held onto one side while Patahn and Dhoni were scoring. Ramesh. R a m e s h
