Roshan is one of my most favourite music directors. In this topic I will be discussing his songs and providing links to various Roshan songs in the relevant singer forum.

Today I remember a very soulful song from the film Aarti 1962 - sung by Lata

A Rafi-Suman duet that I used to like very much in those days - from the film BEDAAG released in 1965

"Maine ai jaan-e-wafa tumse mohabbat ki hai
Tumne ek dard mujhe deke qayamat ki hai"

Beautiful music of ROSHAN - sounding a little Naushad-ish in parts - probably influenced by the lyrics of SHAKEEL BADAYUNI who was Naushad's steady partner( Roshan-Shakeel - quite a rare combination, i must say )

The film DAADI MAA (1966) had several nice songs of ROSHAN, with lyrics by MAJROOH. One such number sung by Lata Mangeshkar was :
Chale aaye re hum to chale aaye re, sabse bachake ankhiyan

Roshan's tunes have so much melody - listening to them gives us an idea of the amount of effort and inspiration that must have gone into each piece of work and they are also a reflection of the immense musical talent of this man.

As I mentioned during the chat session of the Madan Mohan Birthday Special Radio program....i was planning one on another favourite music director of mine - ROSHAN - on his birthday coming up shortly - on July 14th.

But HF Radio seems to have gone phut ?????? sad.gif ....so i have stopped work on the selection for the Roshan program. Maybe I will just upload the songs in sequence here ...you can all download and listen at your own convenience !!!

Songs of Roshan's musical hit AARTI (1962) - requested by akbaralibhai

The first one is a typical Roshan duet :
Baar baar tohe kya samjhayen ( tere bin saajan laage na jiya), Rafi_Lata, Aarti 1962, Roshan_Majrooh

Songs of Aarti will be followed by the songs scheduled to be played in the Roshan Radio Program, which, as of now, stands sadly abandoned....though I may still try a work-around idea.....

-Ab Kya Misaal Doon
-Hone Ko Hai Sukh
