Here is the screen shot as it appered: Strange, i do not see any font that is called Comic.. Check your screen shot. Exact name that appears in the list is "font=Comic Sans Ms" Try working with some other font first to rule out any browser/Site issues - Just another gummy bear fan

I'm using windows xp with internet explorer as well as firefox! And the problem persists in both the browsers but for "hamara forums" only!!! Erum, I am not an expert on these. What ever I gathered is by trial and error. Other members please feel free to correct. Here are some possible causes. When you mention 'the problem occurs only on HF forum board', does it mean you do not encounter these font problems in other discussion boards? In that case, I do not know the reason. If the problem persists in all discussion boards, the following are some suggestions. The following outputs were generated in a laptop running Linux OS and Firefox3. In this system, I have installed only minimum font sets. These results will likely be true when run in other systems. I can think of two reasons for your problem. 1] The browser is not set to use web page's fonts. This was briefly explained in my earlier post. 2] Your computer does not have fonts of your interest. An easy way to check what all fonts are available in your computer would be to open your word processor. Here is a screen shot of the popular word processor, Open Office. Other word processors will also show similar font choices. If your computer has all fonts of your liking, then the problem has to be #1, browser setting. In Firefox, Edit -> Preferences -> Contents -> Fonts & Colors -> Advanced, we can see the following image. I have created a test page for all available fonts in the HF board at this link: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=523800 In the browsers Preferences menu, if we deselect the highlighted choice, the Font Test Page will appear as shown below. All font choices are displayed with the default font. On the other hand, when we Check the highlighted choice in the browser preference, the Font test page appeared as follows in my system. In my system, I have installed only a limited sets of fonts. Therefore, available fonts are correctly displayed and missing font choices revert to default font (marked with X). Hope the above explanation is of some help to you. Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Aug 24 2008, 09:35 AM |

It occurs only on HF board I'm really thankful to you for taking so much trouble for my sake and all your efforts!! I think, I understand the reason for your problem. Marcilo has already posted this reason; but I would like to repeat. If I am not mistaken, you are writing your posts with your computer's word processor and picking fonts from there. For example, you picked 'Comic' font in Post#13. There are only about 20 fonts available in the HF board. They are listed in my Font Test post. https://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=523800 I assume that the above page displayed correctly for you. If you pick any other font from your word processor (not listed in the Font Test page), when you post, it will ignore your font choice and use Arial, the default font in your browser. Please try your Post#13 again with exact fonts found in the font test page. Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Aug 24 2008, 06:07 PM |

Thanks, Exon! Its working! The only hitch is that, I'd to edit post to change the font name, every time that too "quick edit"!! You are most welcome, Erum. I can't reproduce the last part of this problem. In my case, when I choose a font from the 'drop down box', it always puts the full Font name. Exon |
