Subir Ji..you are welcome. It is mutual enlightenment and yes, a thoroughly enjoyable crusade indeed.
I have just found one more song...which has it's roots in a Bengali song. the song is Tumi je amar from the film Harano Sur. I found it on Youtube in bengali, and as i heard it, i could identify the song, a beautiful song sung by Susheela in Dr. Chakravarthi film. Unfortunately i dont have the telugu song. So am posting the Bengali song here...and the song in telugu required is...Nijam cheppave pilla ..from Dr. chakravarthi. In the middle of this racy song, there is a melodious stanza by Susheela " Naalo bhaavam raagam neeve.." on that lines. Again the music director is S.Rajeswara Rao. Tomi je Amar Harano Sur 128 kbps, mp3 duration 4.05 min After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Venkat Ji...here is the song. I snipped from esnips. SF, this upload of yours is not playing, at least on my PC. Can Subir Ji or someone else upload another version? Sorry friends for replying late...I have some urgent works and all... Yes...I heard it and here are the details....This is a total replica of a very famous song from the evergreen movie "Agni Pariksha". I think I need not to say the meaning of the name... Film: Agni Pariksha [1954] Director: Agradoot Starring: Uttam Kumar, Suchitra Sen, Kamal Mitra, Chandravati and many more.. Music: Anupam Ghatak Singer: Sandhya Mukherjee You can watch here.... Subir SF Ji and Subir Ji, Though I could not access an audio version of this "Ke Tumi Amare Dako" from Agni Pariksha, I heard it now on the Youtube u/led by Subir Ji. Well, the Telugu song is an exact reproduction of the bengali tune, except that, in the Bengali song, there is an additional prefix to the second Antara. Sandhya Mukherjea's rendition is superb. Doesn't her voice have some similarities to the younger/earlier Bhanumati's voice? Of course, Sandhya Mukharjea had sung some songs in Hindi too, in Films such as Anand Math. For example, "Aa Gupchup Gapchup Pyaar Karein" along with Hemat Kumar. Further, the other info. given by SF regarding 'Nijam Cheppave Pilla" song from Dr. Chakravarty tells me that S.Rajeswara Rao, unlike Ghantasala, T.V.Raju and others, had been cleverer in copying from Bengali songs, which had little or no chance of being heard by Telugu audiences! The other MDs were easily seen through by copying from popular Hindi numbers! Irrespective, I still view S.Rajeswara Rao as a great MD. Venkat I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Venkat ji..I would second you always. S. Rajeswara rao is indeed a great music director.
Can any body rival his contributions to songs endowed with that master of all instruments VEENA? I am thinking of starting a thread for Veena songs. Will be very grateful if you cite a few songs of that type. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

I am thinking of starting a thread for Veena songs. Will be very grateful if you cite a few songs of that type. Well, Sf, off hand, I can mention "Padavela Radhika" form Iddaru Mitrulu, "Emani Padedano Ee Vela" from Bharya Bharthalu, "Neevu Leka Veena" form Dr. Chakravarty. Let me see if there are any lesser known Veena songs of S.Rajeswara Rao. Subir Ji..here is the song from Dr.Chakravarthy which sounds like ..Tomi je Amar .. Not the first stanza..but the parts from 1.37 to 2.14 and 3.05 to 3.45 . Though this song has a racy tune for two stanzas, there are two beautiful stanzas done with a melodious tune. the way they were blend together is unique. Please do listen and offer your opinion. As i dont have any knowledge about Raagas... . Venkat ji...will wait for your comments too..

Thanks a lot SF ji and Venkatji.. for your valuable opinion.
Actually I heard this "Nijam cheppave pilla" song in another website. But I don't find any replica type similarity like the other two songs from Dr. Chakravarthy. In this song SR Rao has cleverly followed the tune and used it in a different way so that apparently we cannot find any direct similarity. Subir Ji,
Though, generally, I am not at all interested in post-1970 songs, be it Telugu or Hindi, I have d/led your song and listened to it. I find the tune a familiar one, used in Hindi also by RDB himself. In Telugu too, I remember having heard it once or twice, probably from one of the three/four Telugu films for which RDB was the MD. I know no names, etc., though. Venkat I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!
