Thanks for this very good album.
Was there a special bond between OPN and C H Atma? It seems OPN was the only MD who used this sonorous voice. Some classical music aficianados consider C H Atma about as "besuraa" as Mukesh. And yet OPN almost never used Mukesh even when Raj Kapoor specifically asked for OPN to use Mukesh in Do Ustad. |

Nandi, It is not likely that there was a special bond between OPN and Atma. Shankar Jaikishan and many other MD's used him occasionally.Nasir Khan was the leading man in Nagina and Aasmaan; maybe that was the reason.I fail to understand your remarks about Mukesh being considered by classical aficianados as a besura singer.One should refrain from such diminishing remarks about a respected singer as MUKESHJI. regards, vasudev |
