This thread is dedicated to capturing some great melodies created by Roshan and rendered by Lata. Theirs was one of the greatest but underappreciated combinations in Hindi film music. I consider Roshan's songs for Lata superior to those of Madan Mohan. In my books, he is tied at no 3 with Salil Chowdhury in matter of Lata compositions. (C.Ramchandra and Anil Biswas take the first two spots)
I hope others will also join in to share their favorites here. I start with an enchanting melody from "Maalkin, a 1954 film. Hope you enjoy it. Song : unako apanaa banaa ke chhoD diyaa Film : Maalkin (1954) Bit rate : 128kbps |

Next, presenting one of Roshan's most exquisite Lata compositions in a film stuffed with a whole bunch of Lata treasures - "Naubahaar". The below are some of the songs adorning the track :
aerii aalii piyaa bin dekho jii meraa jiyaa kahaa.N hai tuu kahaa.N hai unake bulaave pe Dole vo paas nahii Each of these is a treasure. Today, my favorite song - vo paas nahii majbuur hai dil. A class song, one of those definitive Roshan-Lata melodies. What melody ! |

Regards, Shriram Sri Thanks for Roshan - Lata melodies. I couldn't agree with you more about the class these melodies ooze. Just a small correction, "Aa Phir Se Merey Pyar Ki Taqdir" is from Baarati. Can you please upload "Mohabbat Ek Shola Hai" and "Kisi Ki Aankh Ke Aansoo" from Aagosh and "Haaye Koi Keh De Papiha Se" and "Aa Ja O Aa Ja Beluva" from Baarati in this thread. Thanks Pradeep |
