VERY VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE thread
------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to add three films which all have Shanker Jaikishen as music director. Song albums of first two films were out because they were almost completed. The third one a magnum opus by A A M Noorani could not be completed after few reels and one song recorded. The music of first two films was marvellous. Before I go into details, I would like to add that the films mentioned by the revered members did not affect life and career of stars and other cast and crew involved with those projects. But See HOW A BAD PHASE (CURSE OF GOD) IN ANYONE'S LIFE CAN CONVERT FRIED FISH INTO A LIVE FISH which jumps out of the pan. All efforts of Shanker (of SJ duo) went in vein when none of his films which were very important from the view point of his changing style of music, saw light of silver screen. Had these films released , his struggle for getting his old fame back would have fulfilled upto some exten. These films were..... 1. LOVE IN BOMBAY *ing : Joy Mukherjee, Waheeda Rehman, Kishore Kumar 2. WAQT KA SIKANDER * Dharmendra, Rajendra Kumar 3. WATTAN * Sunil Dutt etc Apart from these I would like to mention here one film GORI (earlier probably it was Dulhan aur Dahej) whic got completed, released on VHS without knowledge of even more fans of SJ. Regards sp/kol http://shankarjaikishan.wordpress.com http://shankarjaikishan.peperonity.com All my favorite people are hanging out in this thread. I bow to their wisdom on all things Bollywood, the history, the trivia......love the pictures, they add so much. So many canned AB films, wow. That's a great picture of Sri, Sangeet, her expression says it all, doesn't it? LOL @ "Goondaism" in Sadhu-Sant poster! I can't add anything THEY don't know already, but a few pictures for the rest, discuss, lol. Chor Mandali (1983) is another shelved film, in which I'm trying to at least get the soundtrack. Thnx for the Additions Guys Khuda Gawah (1978) Bachchan as a cowboy? Anything was possible in the 1970s. The film didn't get beyond a few days but the producer re-used the title in a 1992 film, with Bachchan yet again in the lead role. bhai ye saari aadhi bani hui films complete karvakar mere ko courier kar do LOL lagta hai tum aur hum hi yeh films complete kareinge, varna aur koi nahin inhein complete karnewala. To make these films today would be totally different, 70's and 80's ki filmon ka maza hi aur tha, today every other film is a take off of hollywood, but back then bollywood was original , they didnt give a damn what the world would say about our films, they just made the way they thought best, but today all the producers and directors are hollywood concious, everything needs to match hollywood standards, but the originality lies in not giving a S**T about being technically brilliant but giving your story a true vision, which greats like Manji, Prakash Mehra, Raj Khosla,Vijay Anand, Subhash Ghai (upto Ram Lakhan) exactly did. How i wish all these imcomplete films had materialised, especially Devaa and Bandhuaa dharmaan khan jee aap ki jankari sachmuch kabile tarif hai par ek film main bhi add karna chahunga. It was EK THA CHANDAR EK THI SUDHA, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya bhaduri, based on the novel GUNAHON KA DEVTA, writer Dr. Dharamveer Bharti (The chief Editor of DHARAMYUG)- Tajinder singh |

i would like to revive this thread based on films from the 1990s (many GOVINDA starrers)
DARPOK -Govinda/Twinkle Khanna starrer-launched in 1996 PAAP KE DUSHMAN - launched in 1991, only film ever where Govinda and SUNNY DEOL were signed as heroes, film had one schedule and eventually was shelved due to Sunny's date issues |
