Released: 21 May 2004
Producer/Banner: Mani Ratnam, G.Srinivasan/Madras Talkies
Director: Mani Ratnam
Music Director: A.R.Rahman
Starcast: Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol, Om puri.
What it's about:
Three bright young men from different socio-economic backgrounds are brought together by fate in an accident on Hooghly Bridge. Thier three stories are narrated individually, against a backdrop of political intrigue. The film ends on a note of hope, with youth getting the better of the system.
Budget: Rs. 18 crore.
Price per territory: Rs. 3 crore.
First week collections: 85 percent.
Trade Verdict:
The film got a good initial but couldnt sustain the pace after the second week. Though the film had the intriguing Mani Ratnam touch, boasted of some great performances, especially from Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee, and did well in multiplexes, business in the interiors wasnt up to the mark. Since the producers sold the film at a high price, it will take time to recover its costs.

Yes... not up to the mark, one can say by Mani Ratnam's standard. But as mentioned in Pradeep's post, Abhishek's performace is worth a watch... Hope this guy gets a hit soon...
Cheers,
