Does anyone have songs from Shankarabharanam and Sapthapadhi, especially the last one. I love the songs from these movies and would appreciate if someone could share them with me.

QUOTE(gckasturi @ Jun 1 2005, 04:06 PM) Does anyone have songs from Shankarabharanam and Sapthapadhi, especially the last one. The telugu forum has been slow to catchup and has had very little participation. We could use more participation from members like you. Now about your request: Sankarabharanam songs can be downloaded from: http://www.greatandhra.com/movies/mp3songs/sankara_mp3.html Unfortunately, my favorite song from this movie is missing on this site and I am unable to find it anywhere. It is the lovely song "Sa Ri Ga Ri Ga Pa Dha Pa" in "Bouli" raagam, where Sankara sastry teaches Music to the child half-immersed in water. If anyone has this, please please upload. I might have Saptapadi songs, I'll check and upload if I do. Bibhas A science that does not deliver us to the portals of metaphysics is a failed science and a religion that does not embrace physics is not grounded in reality.

While I am fond of this song, my favorites in this film are Vani's ethereal rendition of "Maanasa sanchara re" and both Vani and SPB singing "Brocheva revarura". Most of the beauty is in the composition, but both singers have done a great job. On a related/unrelated note, I recently heard MSS's rendition of this song. Breath-taking. |

SB, Thanks a gazillion for that lovely upload. Manasa Sanchara Re is very close second after the Bouli song for me. I am more fond of the classical renditions of Broche Varevarura than the film version (changing the lyrics that Thyagaraja wrote for no apparent reason didn't go down very well with me) and MSS version is right at the top of my list. Bibhas Did they change the lyrics on this one? Hmmm, I wonder why. I know that the lyrics of "Saamaja vara gamana" were modified. And it is anyway one of my least favorite songs in the film. And you are welcome on the upload. |

Thank you all so much for the link and the upload! I must confess that I love all of the songs from these movies, so I really can't choose a favorite.

Vivek and Kasturi,
just noticed that "Sapthapadhi" songs are available for download on Coolgoose. Just search for "Saptapadi". Bibhas A science that does not deliver us to the portals of metaphysics is a failed science and a religion that does not embrace physics is not grounded in reality.

Pls recommend some other 'musicals' if possible (even if they have Tamil counterparts). I'll try and listen to them and then probably make specific requests. Vivek |
