Please let me know if you don't have the first 4 from Gulnar and I'll upload. If you have never heard Darbadar Phirte Hain from Shahida, you are in for a major treat!!! Its my favourite Ghulam Haider song, and one of the loveliest of that rich era. 1947 Shahida - Munawar Sultana - Dar Ba Dar Phirte Hain-ghulam haider 128kbps wma 3m 20s Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. Iam much a fan of Munawar Sultana Ji The song was really great gem. Both her rendition and Ghulam Haider Ji's music are par excellence. Doesn't she sound like Zeenat Begum Ji in some places? There are some small similarities in their voices, but can make out certainly who of the 2 is singing. Never heard this before (had no songs from Shahida). Would be extremely grateful if you could upload any of these songs which I want (and am missing - including two from Gulnar): Shahida (1949): 2. Dunya se jo milta hai 3. Kharab mitti na ho kissi ki 4. Ye kambakht do dil bhi Beqarar (1950) 1. Aaja aaja o baalma - wasn't this from Ghulam (sung for Ragini Ji, sounds like Kausar Parveen Ji - if so, already have) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdNh3xoWL7c 2. Arman lute is dil ke (O Janewale Raahi) - wasn't this from Ghulam (sung for Shamim Ji, by Munawar Sultana Ji - if so, already have) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlFfT1B7_TY 3. Bedard zamane se kabhi (Pukhraj Puppo) 4. Dil mein mohabbat ki 5. Dil mein sama gaya 7. Koi jaake unse kehna 8. Mera salam le ja 9. O pardesiya bhool na jaana (Munawar Sultana) - believe this was very popular but failed to find it 10. Qismat ne muskurakar 11. Ulfatbhari nazar ke ishare Ghulam (1953) 1. Barbaad huwey hum jinke liye 2. Chup chup chup jawaani aai re 4. Zakhme jigar mile hain Gulnar (1953) 3. Gila hai aasmaan waale (Fazal Hussain) 5. Khili huwi chaandni (Ieren Parveen) Thank you so much and also in advance! Vidur This post has been edited by Vidur Sury: Jun 19 2011, 02:55 PM |
