1. I think your start is late by 2-3 seconds. This i guess you know.
2. The thing Nasir pointed out above. But he has pointed the second sentence by mistake. It is the tail of the first sentence (the 'thee' of 'teri zulfon se judai to nahin mangi thee') that needs a correction and not the tail of second sentence (the 'thee' of 'qaid maangi thee rihaai to nahin maangi thee').
3. Is it Julm or Zulm? I mean whether जु or ज़ु ? I thought it is the latter and i guess you sung the former. But i am not very sure on this.

I now realise that my THEE is wrong because of my "bad habit” ie I’ve done a little harkat on THEE which has effectively broken the straight THEE tune.

THEE should be one continuous upward vibrato and not flippin modulations.


Well, I shall try and record it all again one day next week.

Harish Bhai I think I’ll stick with Maine Kya JURM Kiya, it seems right; Nasir bhai is HF GURU at Translation and his English write ups are AWESOME!

So Nasir Bhai, which is proper JURM or ZULM; I shall look out for the Translation of this Gem of a song over at your Rafi Thread.

I probably wud never have recorded this, but now am having to, co's some one has requested it

This song is a little tough cookie, just over 3 minutes but is packed with everything, Taan, Little Harkatein (every where ), Flipin Straight notes....no flippin bething space to bring tehraw and as for Sur One may as well forget that


what the heck................... can you help

I'll reocrd it once more after U'r tips and then Jack it in.....must move on to something else

Thanks my friend. Frankly I don't know the musical language such as "vibrato" or "modulation" etc. It must be some decades that I heard this song and knew it by heart. But today I am confused whether the word there is "Zulm" or "Jurm" - the first would mean "oppression" and the second, 'crime". Probably it is "Jurm".

Speaking of "THEE" I remember as follows: First line: JUDAAI TAU NAHIN MANGI THEE..EE. Second line: QAID MAANGI THEE (THEE Slight upwards). Third line: RIHAAI TAU NAHIN MAAGIN THEE - THEE is a bit downwards.

Please don't that that seriously, as this is just my impression which may be wrong, but I'am trying to contribute that's all.

ref Teri Zulfon Se, because the deviations were sooo minor and technically it was ok’d by every body in terms of sur, taal etc I decided to just leave it, any way.......U’r familiar with my dastaan of laziness

Friends, we are having a family party sharty tommorow, we’ll have Antakshri and Karaoke’s. If at all possible I’ll ask some one to try and record a song

So really, this is my first live performance ever or may be not (Infront of my own family)

The idea is to sing spontaneously no chance of preparation, but only for me, because apparently I’m used to recording with Karaoke Tracks, on the other hand the rest of da family and friends are not...how evil; excuses

Thankfully it will be a common, very well known song, I’ve been told

So if I make a huge cock up, I don’t think I shall be uploading; on the otehr hand I may just upload it to cheer Harish Bhai
