A couple of weeks ago, Fifth of this month to be exact, I was supposed to go on a trip to Tanzania and Kenya along with my Sil, Bro, nephew..and his family. But as fate intended, i cancelled my trip at the last minute...due to some pressing work at home..
Ofcourse, i did promise myself that there will be always a next time...the ever optimistic me ! They returned today morning ...with full of awe inspiring memories in their hearts...and a cache of some breathtaking photographs. My nephew is a shutter bug...and the result is here for every one to see. I have divided the pictures into various classes like Land Scapes, Action pictures, General outlay..etc. Trust me, some of these pictures / videos are real class ..and how they show !!! Judge for yourself... This post has been edited by simplefable: Jan 8 2010, 11:57 PM After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Spectacular !!! Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water. - Albert Schweitzer Without music life would be a mistake - Friedrich Nietzsche Where words fail, music speaks - Hans Christian Anderson Music is spiritual. Since I am home now...uploading the other pics, Stage II, the Hunt..!
My brother and Sil were fortunate that they witnessed a fabulous hunt of Cheetahs..there were three of them. One did the chase...it went after a wilder beast and it was amazing to see the pictures. We could sense the awesome power and fantastic grace of these cats.. The next batch would be of how the three Cats devoured the Wilder beast..not for queasy stomachs..but as the Lion King said..it is just the circle of life !! Oh my!! Seems like something right out of the Discovery channel! Mind boggling. Suresh, Bhavita thanks..
There are hundreds of photos and it was tough to pick the right ones..and resize them....all are in megasize, around 3 mb each !! Now, the dinner part..the amazing thing is that though there are three Cheetahs..at any given time, one is always watching for any predators who can spoil their dinner ! They keep watching in cycles...and feasted along. They devoured almost everything of the wilder beast with in an hour or so..! Left out more gory pictures and posted others...hope you would enjoy this.. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

"Left out more gory pics"? What can be more gory than this?? Bhavita i can understand your feelings..
Quoting from " The Lion King" : ( Mufasa and Simba are out walking on the savannah.) Mufasa: Everything you see exists together, in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance, and respect all the creatures-- from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope. Simba: But, Dad, don't we eat the antelope? Mufasa: Yes, Simba, but let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass. And the antelope eat the grass. And so we are all connected in the great Circle of Life. Nothing is as satisfying as seeing the animal friends in their own habitats..Somehow i was never interested in visiting Zoos as often i get to see them in poor conditions..
Will post some pictures where the guide took the vehicle so close to the unsuspecting animals..they stood glaring or looking nonchalantly.. this is the Show Case of Nature..in all it's untamed beauty !! After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
