If you know of a person or source who might have this song I would make efforts to get this one. Other two songs - 'Ni sohniye Heeriye' from Gul Baloch, By Mohammad Rafi and Ameebai or Zohrabai ( I think we all are looking for this one) and ' Tusseen naukar chale naukar chakar chale saade layi ki liaoge saugat' probably sung by Parkash Kaur and Surinder Kaur. Harjinder FWIW............... The singers of Gul Baloch song were Zeenat and Rafi. tuseen naukar chale: I think it was by PK and a male but I may be wrong as I have not heard it since 60s. In the antraz PK goes on to name the gifts she wants for her, her Nand etc. charkha..: ever since you mentioned this song I have asked about it from many sources. Only one person admitted having heard it but was not sure who was the singer. |

'Tussi naukar chale naukar chaakar chale saade layi ki liayo ge saugat Saade layee chunni liayo chunni jhagga(?) liayo meri nand layi heera haar Wey main chunni lavan chunni jhagga paawan meri nand paavegi heera haar' My recollection is not too accurate but the words in the song were mostly like those. Harjinder You seem to have fairly good recollection of the words. jhagga or chagga = ku.Dta, qamiz, shirt. I hope to find it locally. |

Thanks all. Harjinder ji I have not found these songs so far. Will let you know. Here is a beautiful song sung during 40s. You will find shades of this song in many songs later composed by the music directors from Bengal. NAINAN MAIN KOYI CHHAYE KYUN BARAS RAHE DONO AREY JIYA TU HI BATAA KOYI YAAD AAYE KYUN movie : Insaaf (1946) singer : Rajkumari music : Hari Prasanna Das lyrics : Dina Nath Madhok What a beautiful song this is. Rajkumari brings a delicate touch to the song. It is sad that she faded away in the 50s. With a supportive MD, I am sure she would have evolved her style over the years. |
