Ok... will not upload any more songs on this post then smile1.gif

Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water.

(Khosla) Aftaab

With ghazal singers abound, it is sometimes easy to forget up and coming talented singers. I have just started discovering Ashok Khosla. And I am deeply impressed. He has rich voice, and expresses feelings in a ghazal so well when he sings them. For example, take this album "Aftaab". All ghazals from this album are just super. Ashok's singing of them adds so much. One of my favorite ghazals of him is in this album, "Sab Haath Chhudaaye Phirte Hain". Zafar Gorakhpuri's rich lyrics are brought to life with such deep emotion by Khosla that it leaves an indelibly stirring impression.

Because of the lengths of these ghazals, I am uploading them in back to back posts. Here is the first set ...

Ghazals from "Aftaab" Continued ...

Here are rest of the ghazals from this fine album. Pay particular attention to the ghazal "Sab Haath Chhudaaye Phirte Hain", a superbly rendered touching beauty.

A little note. It appears that for some reason the recording of the ghazal "Yeh Haqeeqat Hai" is not up to par as rest of the ghazals from this album.

Now here is the second and last set of ghazals ...

(Dass) Introducing... Chandan Dass

Here is the mellow voice of Chandan Dass that has an ample evidence of the singing style influence of the incomparable Mehdi Hassan Saab. Because of the number of ghazals in this album, I am uploading them in back to back posts.

Here is the first set of ghazals ...

Beautiful Ghazals!

It was long overdue, I guess... that great ghazals from singers like hariharan, talat aziz, chandan das, anoop jalota were shared by SP. Thanks again.

Swarpriya, in case you have the earlier releases of ghazals by Roop Kumar Rathod I think you must upload these too - songs and ghazals like dulhaniyan ki doli kaharon ne looti, ab to tamaam shehar mein, chale bhi aao, aayiye sham dhal gayee, tumko aksar khat likhenge chandni raaton mein ham, ki ha wafa ki baat - from the album Bemisaal and yet another album called Parwaaz had some good ghazals

Regards
Bhavita

Thanks for the suggestion. Currently my plate is too full. This has to wait or someone else can start.

(Hariharan) Dilnasheen

Here is a beautiful album by Hariharan. One can clearly see the deep imapct Mehdi Hassan Saab made on him. Soft, mellow, and full of feelings of emotion. That is Hariharan for you.

This album has nine ghazals. I am uploading eight of them here. The missing ghazal is shown in red italics in the table below. If anyone has this, please kindly share. Because of the lengths of these ghazals I will upload them in two back to back posts. Here is the first set ...
