Hello everybody. I'm probably sending my old folks to Kerla in the middle or end of october. They will stay for app. 3 weeks. I want suggestions about the tour, and if anyone knows the company arranging the tour (http://www.indiadetours.com), is it a credible company? do you recommend something else...they want to see the culture, wildlife, architecture or anything typical Keralish...

I checked the official kerla-tourism page, and I saw some package tours, and found one interesting package:Attached Image

I thought they could go on this tour 2-3 days after reaching cochin (they will prob. need to rest after sitting in the plane for more than 24 hrs).

How does this tour look to you guys who knows kerla and places to see there.

I hope for your suggestions smile1.gif

thank you

have you heard of this tour operator? do know if they are serious? dont want to send my parents down to kerala in the hands of someone who isn't thrust worthy...does the price seem ok?

I checked their homepage, and I can design in Kerala + places near about self, and they will give me a total price, so if you would put up a tour for 8-14 days, how would it look like?
these are the places they have in their list...are any place that is a must see ?
...and I guess they will stay in cochin and go around on one day trips for the rest of their vacation.

these are some suggestions on different routes to take:
Cochin - Munnar - Thekkady - Kumarakom - (houseboat) Alleppey - Cochin

Trivandrum - kovalam (Kanyakumari) - Alleppey - Houseboat - Kumarakom - Thekkady - Munnar - Cochin.

Cochin - Vythiri - Ootty - Kodaikanal - Madurai - Thekkady - Kumarakom - (houseboat) - Alleppey - cochin.

Trivandrum - Poovar - Kanyakumari - Kumarakom - Thekkady - Cochin

Trivandrum - Kovalam - Kollam - Houseboat - Alleppey - Thekkady - Cochin.

When I visited that place way back in mid eighties that was the cleanest beach I could find. Well I am talking about water, since it is a lagoon, water is quiet and clean. You will find lots of imported public hanging out there. Latest tau pata nahi dost, aab kaya haal hai us jagah ka

Kerala is a nice place for a quiet and enjoyable holiday. I will not say the average person ( I mean any one who is not a historian) will find a great deal in terms of historical monuments and places or even wildlife. It is a small state and U can spend a couple of days each at the nice places like Munnar, Kumarakom, Wayanad, Thekkadi and Kovalam without feeling bored and feeling nice and refreshed. Lovely green place and the hill stations are cool. Very beautiful. Ideal place for an older couple. Not for hardcore sightseeing enthusiasts.
There are a few famous temples, all the new resorts are wonderful and the houseboat trip is a treat.

For 9 days it does not seem too expensive. If the places they are staying are the 5-4 star kind ie.

Kovalam was a disappointment for me. I went there last year and it is just a beach. With some horrendously expensive tourist shops. Maybe if I had been staying in the Taj resort I would have found it different, so cannot say. biggrin.gif

But all said and done I fully advocate Kerala as a place for a nice enjoyable and not too expensive holiday.

2 to 3 days on the houseboat is fine, if you have the right company and the weather is excellent. biggrin.gif

Hot summer seasons are going on here. So the below package is more attractive. Parag Sangalji had visited Kerala recently. He had posted his views in a post here: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...7&hl=munnar

Cochin - Munnar - Thekkady - Kumarakom - (houseboat) Alleppey - Cochin
